Chapter 5: It's Just One Bullet - The Motor Inn | Episode I: A New Day The Walking Dead Guide
Last update: 06 April 2023
[PANIC EVENT: START]
After you've reached the place, it will turn out that Glenn wants to save a girl who barricaded herself upstairs. Your task is to silently eliminate all four zombies that are downstairs. A piece of advice before you start - if you take too long when peeking from behind the wall or other cover, the zombies will notice you. The closer you are to getting detected, the redder the edges of the screen become.
The arrows on the screen show the directions to which you can lean out left, right, up, down). Do not lean out up, because you will get detected. Instead, lean out to the left and take the Pillow. Next, lean out to the right and run to the Truck.
When you get to the new hiding place lean out to the left and use the pillow on the Zombie who is near the truck. The first stiff is out. Do not lean out up because you will get detected.
Open the truck Door, by which the characters are hiding. Take the Spark Plug from the seat and then unlock the Gear Shift. Now you will be able to push the Car to destroy the second zombie. You will all move back under the truck.
Lean out up or to the right and try to break the Window. You won't succeed but Glenn will come up with an idea that can help. Try to break the window again but this time instead of hitting it with your elbow, use what remained of the spark plug. This way you will be able to take an Awl.
Lean out to the left and go back behind the low Brick Wall. Lean out up and as soon as possible, use the awl on the Zombie. Thanks to that Lee will sneak up behind him, but it's not over yet! You must quickly stick the awl into the opponent's head. You have literally a second or two to do it - if you don't make it, the zombie will throw himself at you.
You will hide behind the RV. Lean out to the left and use the awl on the next undead. Lee will whistle to lure him out him. Be ready and when the time is right (when a red cursor appears on the screen) stab the zombie with the awl in the chest, and then immediately hit him in the eye. Again, you need to act as quickly as possible in both cases.
You will move near the place where there is a zombie who was pinned to the wall by a car. Right next to the zombie there is a beautiful and useful axe. However, the zombie is too close for you to take it. So stick the awl into his head and then take the Axe. Go right and then up the stairs.
Get closer to the pair of zombies that are banging on the door. When the first one notices you, wait patiently until you see a gray circle on him - it's a sign that you can hit him (of course, you have to aim properly first). If you wait too long, the zombies will throw themselves at you - if it happens, keep pressing the action button to free yourself. Next, use the axe on the second opponent and then knock on the door.
[PANIC EVENT: END]
After a brief conversation, use the axe on the door and then open it. Get ready for another tough decision. It turns out that the girl has been bitten. She will ask you to lend her a gun to shoot herself, so that she does not turn into a zombie. Of course, you can refuse - see below for details.
[TOUGH DECISION #4]
- Giving the gun to the girl.
- Not giving the gun to the girl.
9. "PLEASE. I don't want to be one of them. They're... they're... satanic."
(1): Give it to her. | You made a difficult choice - you will give the gun to the girl. |
(2): You can't have a gun. | You made a difficult choice - you will not give the gun to the girl. |
(3): ... | You will not give the gun to the girl. |
If you did not give the gun or could not decide, you'll watch a cutscene. When it's over, you'll find yourself at the pharmacy, along with Glenn and Carley (your decision will make Glenn angry). If you gave the gun, wait until she commits suicide - you'll be able to say her last words (this decision will make Carley angry).
When you return to the pharmacy, you can finally talk to Glenn. You can ask him about everything. It is worth noting that the "Back at the Motor Inn..." option leads to another question asked by Glenn, which will vary depending on whether you gave the girl the gun or not. Whatever you chose, the gameplay will not be affected.
