How to control a vehicle in Drag Race events?
Drag Races are one of the events available in The Crew 2 that can cause you a little bit of problems even though they are similar to Drag Races from the first game.
Warm up your tires every time you want to participate in a Drag Race. Try to reach the spot marked by two small green lines located on the left side of the screen. This "mini-game" becomes easy after playing it a few times and learning its rules. After reaching the required engine revs you have to keep pressing the accelerate button rhythmically (don't hold the button for too long) to keep the bar in the right spot.
It is important to change gears to higher ones (R1/RB) in the right moment (the gearbox in those events is manual, even when you use automatic one in other disciplines!). Again, you have to "hit" the right spot - this will allow you to switch a gear perfectly. This is difficult to do at low gears because the engine revs are high.
The last element is to use nitro. The moment of using it depends on a track's length. Nitro can be used even on the second-to-last or on the last gear. Again, you need a few tries on the same track to be able to feel when is the right moment to do that.
Note - Upgrades of your vehicle play a huge role in Drag Race events. You won't be able to reach good scores or even complete some of the events if you don't install new parts. Replay events that were unlocked at the start of the game (those with lowest recommended perf level) until your vehicle becomes faster thanks to new parts.
How to control The Crew 2's boats and planes with greater ease?
- Trimming can be very useful in achieving better scores with boats. You can activate it by tilting and holding the left analog stick down. Of course, this maneuver won't allow you to turn at the same time - use it only when you are going in a straight line.
- As for Powerboats, remember about their size. You have to prepare yourself before you turn. Always make a wider arch before you reach the place where, e.g. you have to turn 180 degrees. Avoid ramps and high waves when you are controlling one of these boats - they can slow you down.
- Jetsprint boats are more about agility rather than high speed. Use trimming sparingly and be careful - you don't want to reach solid land. You can get stuck and the only solution to that is to reset your boat.
- Hold the Square button (PS4) / X button (XONE) to maneuver your AB or AR plane with greater precision. This is especially helpful in those events where you have to position your plane in the right way, e.g. when you have to fly through a checkpoint. You can fly towards it in the normal way and then hold the aforementioned button to rotate it faster.
- Use air drifts, activated with L1/R1 (PS4) and LB/RB (XONE) buttons, to make small adjustments. They are especially useful when you are flaying at a right angle to the ground and you need to aim your machine towards a checkpoint or any other object.
