Exploration of the western part of the airfield | Mission 7 - Pont Du Fahs Airfield Sniper Elite III Guide

Head towards the North-Eastern part of the map. Here, there is the control tower (point 6 on the map) and you should unlock the secondary objective connected with the tower. Start by eliminating the two guards, who are patrolling around the tower. Then, take the stairs and deal with the enemy inside the tower, thanks to which you will complete the secondary objective. Remain in the tower, for a bit longer, and collect the new War Diary - Allied War Story: Last Defense.
Climb downstairs and go Eastwards of the control tower. Locate another War Diary - Survival Notes: Desert Sniping II and unlock the first sniper nest. Lay down, on the ground, and use the binoculars, because it is here that you take the Long Shot. Your target has been shown in the above screenshot and it is, as far away from the nest, as 600 meters.
Note - if you are experiencing any problems with taking the shot (the necessity to make considerable corrections, due to the distance and wind) return here later into the game, after you have unlocked a better scope for the rifle. Also, you can play this mission at a lower difficulty level, at which the real-life ballistics is disabled.
To the South of the control tower and the first sniper nest, there are, most importantly, two hangars, numbered 1 and 2 (points 7 and 8 on the map). Also they are being guarded by single enemies but, you are not going to find any collectibles inside. Instead, there are supply crates inside and it is worthwhile returning to them, when you are close to depleting your ammo, or explosives.
To the East of the hangars, there are three bomb depots (points 9 on the map) and they are connected with another secondary objective for this mission. Your task is to destroy all three depots, e.g. by shooting at the explosive barrels, with a firearm, or by throwing some grenades at them. Since the explosions of the depots may attract attention from the nearby enemies, be prepared to eliminate them, after they arrive (you can also blow up the depots after the enemies arrive in them). After you destroy the depots, check out the tents locate to the East of them - inside one, there is a collectible card (green point 6 on the map).
As you continue your exploration of the Eastern parts of the airfield, you need to keep in mind that two handicaps are going to occur. The first one is the armored vehicle,, which is parked near the road. Do not let yourself be spotted by the crew of the vehicle (do not pass by right in front of it) and try not to raise the alarm, to prevent it from setting out on a patrol. I recommend that you destroy the enemy vehicle, because it may, otherwise, join in the fights, towards the end of the mission. The easiest way to do it is to throw some dynamite and detonate it by firing at it, at a distance.
The other handicap is even more important, because it is connected with the two snipers staying around. They have taken their positions on the hills in the South-Eastern corner of the map (point 10 on the map) where, just like the snipers in the previous group, they may appear around only after some time. The first sniper is at a lower height (screenshot 1), whereas the other is occupying the upper ledge (screenshot 2). Eliminate them in any way and d try not to be targeted by them, at the same time.
Head Southwards and reach the fortifications guarded by more enemies. Here, you will have to complete another secondary objective. It is worthwhile entering the small bunker to the South (point 11 on the map). There is a radiotelegraph operator here and you need to kill him. Thanks to killing him, not only will you complete the side objective, but also stop the arrival of further reinforcements, later in the mission.
Before you leave the Eastern part of the airfield, turn your interest to the several opponents that are observing the main airstrip. It is a good idea to eliminate them e.g. by throwing them a grenade. Only after you have dealt with them, take to the rest of the soldiers patrolling the Southern part of the map (of course, this is optional, but I recommend against skipping this step).
In the South-Eastern and Southern part of the airfield, there also are several other places that it is a good idea to visit. First of all, unlock the two sniper nests - the one in the southern tower (blue point 2 on the map) and the one on the nearby hill (blue point 3 on the map). Around, there also are two collectibles - a collectible card (green point 7 on the map) and a War Diary - Axis Account: Desperation; (green point 8 on the map).
