Exploration of the eastern part of the airfield | Mission 7 - Pont Du Fahs Airfield Sniper Elite III Guide

Note - before you take to the first primary objective of this mission, it would be a good idea to explore the entire map. Later on, this is going to be more difficult, because you are up for quite a number of direct fights, towards the end of the mission. During the airfield exploration, I recommend that you move in the clockwise direction, i.e. explore the Eastern, Northern, Western and Southern portion of the map. If, however, you prefer only to reach the main target of the mission, you can stop in the Western part of the map and unlock access to the underground bunkers at that point.
This mission starts in the South-Western part of the map (point 1 on the map). Try to approach the first enemy group to the East of here. Eliminate them and take a look around for a big generator, which it is a good idea to sabotage. Take advantage that the generator is making and eliminate all of the remaining enemies in the area.
Note- Just like in the previous missions, every now and then, there also are airplanes flying by, but the frequency of that is low.
After you have initially secured the South-Western part of the airfield, I recommend that you head Northwards. There are several paths to choose from, here. One of the possible variants assumes that you cross two hangars - number 4 (point 2 on the map) and number 3 (point 3 on the map). Unfortunately, in each, you will encounter, at least, two or three enemies but, thanks to reaching to these buildings, you can obtain two War Diaries - Survival Notes: Sandstorms and Letters to Martin; green points 1 and 2 on the map).
Another good way to reach the Northern part of the map, is to move close its Western rim. An additional asset of this variant you should not, initially, encounter any enemies here. Only further into your path, you will approach two soldiers, standing side by side - you can either shoot them or attempt to walk around them. While here, explore this area, thanks to which you will find a collectible card (green point 3 on the map).
In the North-Western part of the map, there are fortifications connected with the underground bunkers. As I have already mentioned, it is best to gain access to the bunkers only after you have explored the rest of the map but, there is nothing in your way to prevent you from securing the area initially. In my case, two soldiers were patrolling around one of the bunkers. Two other soldiers stood directly above them (also here, it is advisable to use a suppressed weapon).
The North-Western part of the airfield is also being watched over by two snipers, who are occupying the nearby hill (point 5 on the map). They have been shown in the above screenshot where, it is highly probable that they appear on the map only some time after you have started the mission. Try to eliminate them by attacking at a distance, as soon as they get to their positions (at best, by taking a shot drowned out by passing airplanes), in order to prevent being spotted by them, later into the mission.
Before you move into the central part of the airfield, it is a good idea to mention a few things about the actions that the enemy are taking. The central airstrip (point 4 on the map), is being patrolled by a group of 4-5 soldiers (you can either avoid them or throw them a grenade). Additionally, around there also is an armored vehicle. The enemy vehicle is occupied with patrolling the areas marked with the green lines on the map, provided with the walkthrough for this mission.
It is highly advisable that you eliminate the abovementioned vehicle, at the first opportunity, because this will make further exploration of the map easier. I recommend against using the sniper rifle, or the rocket launcher, because you can then be easily spotted. It is best to use landmines and place one in the path of the vehicle.
Note - if, for any reason, you do not have explosives on you, reach one of the multiple supply crates all around the map (some of them are, e.g. in the Western hangars).
