Sniper Elite 5: Map of Mission 8 (Rubble and Ruin) and location description

During Mission 5 (Rubble and Ruin) of Sniper Elite 5 you'll visit a ruined Saint Nazaire with an objective to find a secret u-boot base. In this part of the guide, you can view a detailed map of the mission area, with the most interesting locations, sniper nests on towers in the ruins and 19 optional collectibles marked.

The most important locations of Mission 8

1. Church - point 2 on the map

It is in the southern part of the city and is a background to the only side mission of this level. You have to watch out for the sniper hiding in the church tower . You should also consider visiting the tower, as it is the highest point on the map, making you able to kill enemies with long-range shots.

1. Town Hall - point 4 on the map

The Town Hall is away from the main part of the city and has not been seriously damaged. You visit this place with the intention of murdering a Kill List Target (Shinji Yoshikawa). There are soldiers and an armored vehicle at the entrance to the town hall, but you can avoid enemies in various ways.

1. Park with an entrance to the sewers - point 6 on the map

The park in the north-eastern part of the city is guarded by enemies and a tank , but destroying the enemy vehicle is purely optional. The main reason to visit the park is to find the sewer entrance , which is the only way to reach the u-boat base .

1. U-boot base - point 7 on the map

The base is a large location in the north-eastern corner of the map, but you can't reach it at first , because all surface pathways are blocked. The only viable pathway is through the sewers, the entrance to which is in the park. At the base, you will receive tasks to sabotage smaller submarines and ultimately destroy the Kraken .

Mission 8 – general information

The eighth mission of Sniper Elite 5 is the last one to take place on a large open map with both main and optional activities. The hero's task is to search the ruins of Saint Nazaire with the intention of locating the U-boot base and finally stopping Kraken. The base cannot be accessed from the ground level , as it is surrounded by walls and barbed wire. Instead, you'll need to travel to the park and find a sewer entrance there, which is also a point of no return.

In the ruined St Nazaire, you need to watch out for snipers (marked with red on the map). Take care of them through long-distance shots or sneak into their nests. There is also a tank and an armored vehicle on the map, but the machines are easy to avoid or destroy.

By default, Mission 8 starts in the south-west corner of the city. In the course of it, you can unlock alternative starting locations for future playthroughs, with the entrance from the eastern part of the map being the most interesting, as you can access the sewers faster. There are numerous main and optional tasks in the level. We discussed them on the following pages:

1. Infiltrate the U-boat base - This is the main objective of the mission, which forces you to locate a secret passage through the sewers to get to the seemingly inaccessible submarine base.
2. Destroy U-boats and Kraken - You have to destroy submarines in the base - first you have to sabotage 3 smaller U-boats and then destroy the Kraken.
3. Side quest - In mission 8, there is only 1 side quest to complete. You have to disrupt radio communication by sabotaging it near the church.
4. Kill List Target - Shinji Yoshikawa - Our walkthrough explains where to find Shinji, as well as how to shoot Yoshikawa with the appropriate weapon (Type 100 or Type 14 Nambu) for the optional challenge.
