In the course of Mission 3 (Spy Academy) of Sniper Elite 5, you can receive information that an officers' meeting is to take place at the monastery. Our guide contains a detailed walkthrough on how to get to the monastery, how to locate the meeting point, how to get to the top of the monastery without being noticed, how to eavesdrop on the officers' conversation and how to obtain data on Operation Kraken.
Getting to the monastery
The activities that will allow you to learn about the planned officer meeting have been described on the previous page - Infiltrating the island and determining the meeting place.
You will determine that the officers plan to meet in the main building of the monastery , on one of its top floors. It is the tallest building on the map and you should have no problems locating it. Unfortunately it is not possible to climb the from the cliff side . You must choose an other, more problematic approach.
The more obvious option is to take the main road leading up the hill, i.e. to the monastery building. You can start your journey next to the checkpoint . You can decide to follow a side path but remain careful, as there are many opponents positioned at the hill. Additionally, a vehicle may appear on the road.
The less obvious variant is to look for the path that begins at the back of the church (the smaller one from the eastern part of the map, the one where you've found Bruhl). You can access the interior of the church and proceed through its main hall, which serves as a shortcut.
Travel to the north of the church and you'll find the pathway in question. This path allows you to avoid some of the enemies that patrol the main road up the hill.
Eavesdropping on the Kraken meeting
There are several entrances to the main building of the monastery, but all of them are well-guarded.
We recommend choosing a path from the east . There is an armory in the area (screenshot 1) - the key to it is carried by an officer found in one of the buildings north of it (screenshot 2) You can also simply blow up the armory door with an explosive, but this may start an alert.
Once you're inside the armory, look for supplies, and locate the pathway leading to the main building of the monastery (screenshot above) Using it will allow you to avoid guards that are posted at each entrance and those on the lowest floor of the monastery.
Whichever method you choose, make sure to stay hidden . Alerting the opponents doesn't mean game over, as you can still obtain the documents. However, this may make you unable to complete an optional challenge involving Fabian Richter (Kill List Target - to learn more, visit a dedicated page of the guide)
Now you need to climb the stairs to reach upper floors. Make use of your radar and take care of opponents one by one so that the bodies can be hidden. Use takedowns or a trusty silenced weapon.
After reaching your destination, it will turn out that the officers' meeting room is closed . The key is carried by an officer found on the same floor.
If the outpost is at an alert, entering the meeting room may mean you'll be attacked.
If you've managed to stay hidden to this moment, you can eavesdrop on the officers' conversation. After the meeting is over, you will also have an opportunity to murder Fabian Richter (kill list target), - the whole action is described in detail on a separate page (Fabian Richter)
Regardless of how the situation develops, your final objective is to Gather Intel on Operation Kraken. You can find the intel on a table where the meeting took place. Either clear the area of enemies or wait until the officers leave the room once the meeting is over.
