Americans At Rest is one of the missions available in Red Dead Redemption 2's second chapter. During this mission you have to visit a saloon. The visit will end with a fist-fight. Your goal is to defeat a few people, including Tommy.
How to unlock: Meet with Javier Escuella in the saloon in Valentine.
Walkthrough: Watch the cut-scene that shows the meeting in the saloon. Soon, a fight breaks out - this serves as a tutorial for more advanced hand-to-hand combat. You can use dodges (press the right button) or blocks (hold the dodge button). One of the enemies should catch the hero from behind. Press the correct button rhythmically to free yourself.
Help Javier when the game displays the message that he needs help (the picture above).
The second part of the mission takes place outside the saloon - your objective is to defeat Tommy who is a more challenging fighter. Don't rely only on regular attacks - the man can avoid them with ease or even use (more powerful) counterattacks. Instead, you should rely on dodges and blocks - attack after each successful block/dodge. Tommy can knock you down - quickly press the correct button to free Arthur. Start hitting Tommy when he is the one on the ground. Defeat Tommy to end this rather short mission.
How to get a gold medal in Americans At Rest?
- Save Javier in less than 15 seconds - The first picture in the walkthrough for this quest shows the moment when Javier will need your help. Reach him as fast as possible and attack the person struggling with him.
- Defeat Tommy in less than 1 minute and 30 seconds - Try to stay close to Tommy - this will provoke him to use attacks that can be blocked by Arthur. It is also important to use successful attacks - avoid situations where Tommy doesn't lose health from your hits.
