Middle-earth: Shadow of War features missions known as Shadows of the Past - here, you play as Celebrimbor and you have to recreate his heroic acts. These missions are rather easy to complete but you can also try to win a trophy: bronze (for completing a mission), silver (usually you have some additional restrictions, e.g. you can't use your sword) and gold (you must complete a mission within a time limit or finish an additional objective). Below, you can find a list of all missions, rewards and tips for how to complete them:

Aphadad

Objectives:

  1. Defeat 10 uruks.
  2. 4/4 Caragor stealth kills from above.
  3. Avoid detection.

Reward:

  1. Bronze: +500 silver coins
  2. Silver: +1 skill point
  3. Gold: Carved Warrior Gem

Note: A simple mission. You have to focus on staying hidden and eliminating your enemies one by one.

Abgen

Objectives:

  1. Defeat 35 orcs by using fire.
  2. Complete the mission within a time limit (1:50)
  3. Kill the captain.

Reward:

  1. Bronze: +500 silver coins
  2. Silver: +1 skill point
  3. Gold: Carved Wealth Gem

Note: A difficult mission - you don't have much time and you have to control your Drake really well. Focus mainly on the captain but you will probably have to replay this mission a few times.

Cannas

Objectives:

  1. Defeat uruks by using Bird of Prey
  2. Kill 3/3 uruks with a headshot.
  3. Complete the mission within a time limit (0:40)
  4. Defeat 40 ghuls.
  5. Use only 5 arrows.
  6. Complete the mission within a time limit (0:30)
  7. Bronze: +800 silver coins
  8. Silver: +1 skill point
  9. Gold: Polished Warrior Gem
  10. 5/5 Caragors defeated with arrows.
  11. Don't get hit.
  12. 3/3 Caragors defeated with a headshot.
  13. Bronze: +800 silver coins
  14. Silver: +1 skill point
  15. Gold: Polished Life Gem
  16. 5/5 Olog-hai killed with a stealth attack.
  17. Avoid detection.
  18. Kill only the marked targets.
  19. Bronze: +800 silver coins
  20. Silver: +1 skill point
  21. Gold: Polished Life Gem
  22. Dominate the orc Warchief.
  23. Perform an execution on the Warchief while you are on a Caragor.
  24. Raise your Hitstreak to 25.
  25. Bronze: +800 silver coins
  26. Silver: +1 skill point
  27. Gold: Polished Warrior Gem
  28. Dominate the captain.
  29. Catch and dominate the captain.
  30. Hit 10 orcs by using a single explosion from a barrel or a campfire.
  31. Bronze: +500 silver coins
  32. Silver: +1 skill point
  33. Gold: Carved Life Gem
  34. Defeat 30 enemies.
  35. 10/10 perfect counters performed.
  36. Raise your Hitstreak to 30.
  37. Bronze: +500 silver coins
  38. Silver: +1 skill point
  39. Gold: Carved Warrior Gem
  40. Dominate the Warchief.
  41. Perform 4/4 Brutalize.
  42. Defeat two of the Warchief's bodyguards.
  43. Bronze: +500 silver coins
  44. Silver: +1 skill point
  45. Gold: Carved Warrior Gem
  46. Kill 15 Caragor Riders before they reach the fort.
  47. Kill the invaders before the time limit.
  48. Free 3 Drakes.
  49. Bronze: +1000 silver coins
  50. Silver: +1 skill point
  51. Gold: Polished Wealth Gem
  52. Dominate the captain.
  53. Use ground domination on the captain.
  54. Perform 3 executions while mounted.
  55. Bronze: +1000 silver coins
  56. Silver: +1 skill point
  57. Gold: Polished Life Gem
  58. Defeat 50 enemies in the forest.
  59. Complete the mission within the time limit.
  60. Perform 6 executions while you are riding on a Caragor.
  61. Bronze: +600 silver coins
  62. Silver: +1 skill point
  63. Gold: Polished Warrior Gem
  64. Defeat more orcs than the Drake.
  65. 15/15 orcs killed by an explosion.
  66. Kill the Drake.
  67. Bronze: +600 silver coins
  68. Silver: +1 skill point
  69. Gold: Polished Life Gem
  70. Dominate the captain.
  71. Lure the captain within the time limit.
  72. Use Shadow Strike to dominate the enemy.
  73. Bronze: +600 silver coins
  74. Silver: +1 skill point
  75. Gold: Polished Wealth Gem

Reward:

  1. Bronze: +500 silver coins
  2. Silver: +1 skill point
  3. Gold: Carved Wealth Gem

Note: When the mission starts you must run immediately and get to work. You don't have much time and you must be very accurate.

Mergras

Objectives:

  1. Defeat uruks by using Bird of Prey

  71. Lure the captain within the time limit.
  72. Use Shadow Strike to dominate the enemy.
  73. Bronze: +600 silver coins

Note: A rather easy mission - wait for ghuls to gather near a barrel and then shoot it.

Curu

Objectives:

Note: A very easy mission - keep rolling and shoot beasts in their heads when you get a chance.

Hannas

Objectives:

Note: A difficult task - you must avoid being detected by the other orcs' detection. You can always, e.g. lure your enemies by using your bow and then kill your targets.

Ancient Warchief: The Champion

Objectives:

Reward:

Note: Try to raise your Hitstreak to 25 before the Warchief appears. Then, you should try to mount a Caragor and perform an execution on that Warchief - domination is just a formality.

Ancient Warchief: The Grog Hoarder

Objectives:

Reward:

Note: First, you should focus on hitting orcs with an explosion. Then, you must dominate the captain.

Raith

Objectives:

Reward:

Note: An easy mission - focus on counters and you will get gold.

Ancient Warchief: The Fear Eater

Objectives:

Reward:

Note: First, focus on assassinations - eliminate your enemies, e.g. from above. Then, you must defeat the Warchief but before you do that, you should kill his bodyguards.

Tirith

Objectives:

Note: Focus on the Riders and don't allow them to pass. Then, you must free Drakes and try to kill the Graug as fast as you can.

Ancient Warchief: The Iron Mount

Objectives:

Reward:

Note: Free a Caragor and start performing executions. Then, you should fight with the captain and dominate him.

Mabad

Objectives:

Reward:

Note: A rather difficult task - you must focus mainly on executions. You must also remember that you can kill orcs with headshots.

Bellas

Objectives:

Reward:

Note: First, you should focus on explosions - catching up with kills is easy. Then, attack the Drake.

Ancient Warchief: The Tricky

Objectives:

Reward:

Note: First, focus on luring out the captain. Then, defeat him and dominate with Shadow Strike.
