Use the entire track in Gran Turismo Sport Gran Turismo Sport Guide, Tips

Each track, regardless of its width, has one, perfect line (in places differing from the yellow one in the game), allowing quick times. Every corner has to be entered from the correct side, and when going out from it, you usually go over a grater/colorful curb. If you always fit on the black asphalt surface of the track, you are certainly driving too slow!
Use bollards or blue virtual markers for entry and exit points as well as the apex of corners (the center of a corner on the inside of the track)! By passing them as nearly as possible, you can be sure that you are driving the right, fastest line - the speed reduction is limited and the tires wear out slower. Look for additional graters on the tracks (concrete trusses on the grass), which usually indicate that the centrifugally pushed cars go there at the fastest laps or - when entering the corner - they are able to "cut" some of the track.
Fast and slow turning
Be reasonable too - driving over high curbs, especially on the Nordschleife track, often knocks the car off the road. A small hook against this curbs, by the wheel during acceleration can cause a spectacular spin. On each, you must also feel how much you can drive on the curb without getting a time penalty. Sometimes the difference between the ideal, fastest in run, and the prohibited one is very small.
On the curbs you have to be careful - they will not always provide a faster lap
