Starting tips for Gran Turismo Sport Gran Turismo Sport Guide, Tips

Last update: 11 July 2018

The beginning in Gran Turismo Sport can be difficult - you offer you some starting tips, that will help you begin your adventure in the dynamic world of GTS.

Learn the track!

This is the first condition if you want to have any chances in this competition. You can't enter the race without knowing the track, thinking "whatever". You must know how our car will behave on a given track, its appropriate braking points, what gear is best for entering curves, the places where you can cut corners, and places where you definitely shouldn't do it. Finally, you need to know the way to the pit-stop, which can sometimes be a very narrow curve. The rule of the fist is, you won't learn the ropes of a track without going through at least a few dozen training laps. You can also refer to the tutorials available for each track, cut up in sections for your convenience, in the Campaign - Practice on track mode; you can also watch qualification replays of other players.

Whatever happens, don't worry!

Online races are a wild ride with a lot of ups and downs - unfortunately, the latter are not always our fault. The game has an automatic penalty system for causing collisions or cutting curves, and as with any other bot, it's a hit and miss - it can't won't analyze every situation perfectly. It often happens that when you lose speed and time as a result of some error, the game adds a few more penalty seconds for good measure.

The same thing happens during collisions - you must bear in mind, that sometimes you will be the ones getting a penalty after someone else crashed into us. You may get thrown out of track, lose 8 positions, and the culprit will drive on like nothing happened (and the arbiter is blind). The reason may be a simple, unintentional mistake, a tight situation, where there was no room for proper braking in a car crowd before the corner, and sometimes an intentional, malicious maneuver.

Cars scattered on the track, penalties, yellow flags, far away spot - but there are still seven laps to go and anything can happen in the meantime. This can still be finished in the top ten. - Starting tips for Gran Turismo Sport - Tips and trophies - Gran Turismo Sport Game Guide

You can also eliminate a rival unintentionally. With 20 cars, a motley crew of drivers, imperfections in the collision physics and internet connection, there is no way you can always evade such situations, so no use worrying about them too much. There's no point in being mad at others, or dwell on things for too long, even if emotions move beyond the racing track - things are tense during the competition, so it may occasionally happen. Sporadically, you can receive private messages containing beef or insults, or something quite opposite - messages with remorseful apologies or congratulations.

Every other day on public roads people can come across various drivers and different situations, the same thing happens on a virtual track. Gran Turismo Sport is the current leader among racing games when it comes to issue management, this is the game, where you will find the most civil gaming environment during multiplayer races. Whatever happens, don't worry!

The ghosting is enabled for low ranking drivers, meaning that their cars pass through other vehicles without colliding. This means that at beginning of the career, collisions won't be such a big problem - only at very low speeds can the drivers make contact with each other's rides - the cars turn into ghosts at higher speeds.

Fight till the very end!

The third principle is connected with unpleasant situations - the fight to the very end! Even if you are out of the track, or are one of the last cars - there is no reason to give up, leave the race, resign from the fight, or start madness in the style of spinning tops or driving wrong-way. First of all, the game will kick us out from the server, because of such behaviors, secondly if you leave the race, you will go down in our driver and fairplay ranking, and thirdly - the race can end well!

The last lap, the last turns do not mean that everything is clear - errors occur at the last meters.{youtube}mbB42tLFM58{/youtube}

On the track the situation develops dynamically all the time and you never know what the final result will be. I saw drivers who, through lack of concentration or pressure, fell into the sand even at the last corner before the finish line many times. Some of them finish with time penalties and then they are moved to worse positions, so if you cross the finish in a far place, you can finally get ahead of even a few players, which is important in scoring races. Whatever happens - fight till the very end!
