Keep an eye on the HUD in Gran Turismo Sport Gran Turismo Sport Guide, Tips
Last update: 11 July 2018
HUD can provide you with a lot of useful information during the race. If you use the view from the bumper or from the cockpit, the glowing red circles on the virtual radar in the center indicate the proximity of other vehicles. You can also turn on more accurate radar as the main HUD option. Check out often the drivers' classification on the left by monitoring the current distance from the nearest opponents in seconds - the one above the name of your car shows the loss to the player in front of you, and the one under the name - the advantage over the player in the back. In the red frame you can see the loss to the leader.
If someone is behind you 2 seconds or more - you're relatively safe; if less than a second - expect an attack or constant pressure. Thanks to changing seconds, you also see if you are escaping or approaching someone. Do not use the mini-map in the upper corner or the bottom, like in the arcade game. They are too inaccurate and useful only during qualifying, because it shows where the biggest crowd of players is. You can completely ignore the flashing "braking" warning. It appears much too soon and does not allow getting a good time.
