How does the multiplayer work in Fallout 76? Fallout 76 Guide, Walkthrough
Last update: 23 June 2021
Each time you start a game in Fallout 76, you go to a different server than before. However, this does not mean that your progress is lost - your character will be at the same level and all the items gained will be in your inventory. And how do the other elements of online gameplay work? These issues are explained in the following section.
List of Players
On the world map you can open a list of players - there, you will find:
- Friendlist - you can add players from your team to your friendlist.
- List of members of the team to which you currently belong.
- A list of recently met players on the server.
Besides, on the world map, you will find all players currently playing on the server - they are marked with bright dots.
Communication with Players
You can communicate with the players you meet via a computer microphone - but since players from many different countries will be participating in the same game, communication can sometimes be difficult. It's easier to use the gesture menu, where you'll find a few animations to express your basic emotions. It can be a greeting, a willingness to trade or a confession of love - the player will see animations, as well as an icon of the chosen gesture.
Teams
Players can unite in teams and explore the dangerous world together. This makes it easier to deal with enemy hordes, as well as getting bonuses for performing missions together. You can be invited to the team by another player, but you can also start a team yourself. All you have to do is come up to the player and choose the option "Invite to team" - if they agree, you will become the leader of the team and you will be able to invite more players.
You will find more information about this topic in the "How to join a team?" section of our tutorial.
PvP Mode
If you prefer to cooperate with other players, you should check out the PvP mode. If you want to challenge someone to a fight, it is enough to attack them - if they hit you back, you will automatically become enemies. The player's name will change to red and on the compass and map, it will be marked with a red dot.
You can read more about the Player vs Player mode in the "How Does the PvP Work" section of our tutorial.
