You will meet the first heroes near Vault 76.

Starting the Fallout 76 Wastelanders story is very simple. Whether you are playing as a new character or an existing one, the expansion's plot begins near Vault 76. If you are playing as a new character, all you have to do is leave the starting location and go down the nearby stairs. Existing characters can simply teleport to that place. On the spot, you will meet two women - Isela and Lacey. Approach them to automatically receive the Wayward Souls quest, the first main quest in the Wastelanders storyline. Talk to the women - you have to go to a new location, where you will meet more characters and begin new quests.
