Saving progress in career mode is an important part of F1 Manager 2022. On this page of the guide, you will find complete information about saving the game - we explain how to create your saves, why saving the game may be blocked, and how gameplay can be made easier by having manual saves.
Manual and automatic saves
F1 Manager 2022 updates the automatic save of the game status of your career regularly, and this happens, for example, when you close some mission window, use the calendar, or end a session. You should additionally rely on manual saves - you can create them from the pause menu.
By default, as many as 50 slots should be available for your saves. This way you can save on different slots and have different previous career points to load it, if necessary.
Blocked saving - why?
saving is temporarily blocked for the duration of the session. It simply means that you cannot save the game during a race or an ongoing practice or qualifying session . Unfortunately, this can be troublesome if you complete the race without using the time acceleration option.
The aforementioned blockade has 2 significant facilitations:
- you can save the game between practice sessions;
- you can save the game between qualification passages, i.e. Q1, Q2, and Q3 - it is a good idea to protect yourself against your drivers going out in this part of the qualification.
Main uses for manual game saves
Making manual saves can save you from many potential problems. The main uses are:
- accidents or weak form of drivers/team in qualifying - if you want to maximize your chances, then save after each part of qualification (after Q1 and Q2);
- accidents or weak form of drivers/team in the race - unfortunately, assuming that you do not use the acceleration of the race times are long, and with serious mistakes, at the end, you can lose a lot of time to replay the entire race;
- failure during negotiations with the driver - if your offer is rejected, then you can find out the reasons for this and, after loading the game, modify it so that the driver already agrees to the first proposal;
- failure to meet sponsor's expectations - you may end up in a situation where you set unrealistic goals for the race and instead of gaining money from sponsors you will lose it after a result that does not meet expectations;
- bad planning of team development - You can easily make mistakes when modifying cars, investing in the development of team facilities, or bringing a team to the brink of bankruptcy.
