Calendar activities

A career in F1 Manager 2022 is not just about race weekends. There are various other activities to be performed during breaks between races. They involve designing and producing new parts, expanding team facilities or scouting new drivers and team members.

You can receive e-mails and messages about all important events, thanks to which you do not have to keep returning to the calendar menu. You will not miss anything important.

Performance Targets

Performance Targets are challenges you will set for yourself. Most of them are set separately for each race:

1. Qualifying Targets refer to the expected results in the entire qualifications or only parts of them (Q1, Q2, Q3).
2. Race Targets refer to the predicted result of the main race.
3. Hot Streak Targets are about achieving certain results in several GPs in a row (e.g. 4-5 races).

Each of the above categories includes:

Incentives - these are goals created by your sponsors. Achieving them means receiving a cash prize. If you do not manage though, nothing bad will happen.

Guarantees - these are challenges that you can create yourself. They offer potential big rewards, but there's also the risk of a fine - you'll get one if you don't meet the requirements. As a result, it is important to create guarantees with a high probability of success:

1. If the guarantee concerns the place where the qualifying or race is completed, choose the one that suits your car and drivers.
2. You can modify guarantees; it doesn't always have to be the default one.
3. The guarantee may apply to 1 or 2 drivers (e.g. qualifying for Q3 with 2 cars). Selecting 2 cars increases the challenge level, but there is also a chance of getting a better reward.

Installation and replacement of worn car parts

Replacing parts will become important only after the first few races of the season have been played. You can design new parts and then produce them (at least 2 pieces if you want to install them in both cars).

When selecting parts, you should check whether the new part fits the characteristics of the track. For example, if the particular track puts emphasis on cornering speed, choose the parts that will give you the best values in this regard.

Another very important issue to check before the new race weekend is the level of engine wear, ERS and gearbox. Each of these large parts has a percentage of wear and you should react in advance to avoid problems with reliability or poor race performance.

Unfortunately, the limit of engines, ERS and gearbox applies to the entire season (e.g. only 4 gearboxes). Going beyond this limit means that:

1. You will have to spend money on a new part.
2. You will be moved to the start of the race as a punishment.

It is very likely that you will have to receive penalties once or more times during the season. Making it within the engines, ERS and gearbox limits would enforce a very conservative way of driving, which could lead to worse results. Sometimes it is better to accept a penalty and have a car with a new part that guarantees maximum performance.

Weather forecast for the race weekend

The last thing to check before the race weekend is the weather forecast for Friday (practice 1 and 2), Saturday (practice 3 and qualifications) and Sunday (race). Check the forecast only after advancing to Friday in the calendar. This way, you will have the most recent forecast.

Knowing the weather forecast can help you determine during which sessions it is likely to rain. If it is likely to rain, it is best to save the game before the session and play it manually. This will allow you to react as well as possible to dynamically changing weather conditions.
