In F1 Manager 2022 you assume the role of a manager, but you may wonder whether there is an option to take part in the races with a player-created team. Aside from that, we explain the sponsorship issues and how to change drivers.
Choosing a team to play the career with
Unfortunately, in F1 Manager 2022 you can only lead one of the real-life Formula 1 teams that take part in the 2022 season. There are 10 teams to choose from - here you can find a short introduction to each of them.
There is no option in the game to create a completely new team that would join the competition as the eleventh team . This possibility appears in rival title - F1 22 developed by Codemasters, and it is called My Team Mode. It may be that the 11th team will appear in the PC version of F1 Manager 2022 thanks to a fan modification - for now, you need to choose one of real-life teams.
The sponsors are also imposed from above in F1 Manager 2022 and this is probably due to licensing reasons. You cannot change sponsors or choose a different car paint. However, during the game you can interact with sponsors, for example, by meeting their goals in order to get cash bonuses.
Choice of drivers
Fortunately, F1 Manager 2022 allows you to change drivers and it is an important element of the game . At your disposal, in addition to Formula 1 drivers from 2022 there are also reserve drivers and drivers taking part in racing in the 2022 season of the F2 and F3 series. You can use scouts to research other drivers, then prepare contracts for them and get them to join your team.
An interesting fact is that you can change the driver line-up right after starting a new career, i.e. before entering the 2022 season in the game . However, in such a situation, you have to take into account possible financial penalties related to the premature dismissal of currently contracted drivers. We advise you to use this option only if you really care about having a specific driver in your team from the very first race.
