F1 Manager 2022 is a licensed sports strategy game, in which we take the role of a Formula 1 team manager. It was developed and published by the British studio Frontier Developments, which has produced many economic strategies, such as Jurassic World Evolution 2 or Planet Zoo.
Game mechanics
Our task is to select a team (from the full list of drivers and staff for the 2022 F1 season) and lead it to victory, taking care of the smallest details. We need to control the results of our team members, as well as keep an eye on the rising stars of the competition to ensure we stay ahead. There's also finance and engineering to manage, with new car parts to choose from in order to dominate on the track - you can choose a balanced system or choose something unexpected and daring.
All of this is topped off with race strategy and decisions made during races, from choosing when to pit and change tyres, to tips given to the driver. The overriding goal is to complete short- and long-term tasks to prove yourself to team management.
Technical aspects
F1 Manager 2022 features really good graphics and audio. The cars, racetracks and drivers have been faithfully reproduced, with plenty of detail. The developers also took care of a realistic broadcast package, so each race is accompanied by official F1 logos, tables and graphics.
Game modes
In F1 Manager 2022 we can play exclusively on our own. The developers have not provided for any form of multiplayer.

IGN: 8 / 10 by James Swinbanks
F1 Manager 2022 speeds to the front of the grid with a deep, compulsive, and largely authentic motorsports management sim.
The Independent: 8 / 10
Between the ecstasy of nicking a top-10 finish, and the agony of being ploughed into a barrier – F1 Manager 22 is a faithful recreation of the motorsport. For better or worse. The game won’t convert people to the sport in the way Drive to Survive has, or in the way FIFA and Football Manager work magic, but there’s a serious simulation here and die-hards, above all, will appreciate it the most.
Dexerto: 8.5 / 10 by Matt Porter
In the end, though, the most important thing about any game is how it makes you feel. It may be a little rough around the edges at times, but F1 Manager 2022 is a truly immersive experience, and it’s easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of a race weekend. Securing a 10th place finish with some strategy tinkering at the opening race of the season in Bahrain had me beaming from ear to ear, and getting both cars into Q3 in Azerbijan made me feel like a true motorsport mastermind. Yes, there are some areas where the game could improve. Yes, the animations do break the immersion a little bit, the menus can be finicky, and they could do with making things quicker. But when your drivers are battling with opponents, none of that really seems to matter. If you love Formula 1 and sit at home on a Sunday afternoon thinking you could do a better job than Ferrari’s strategists, then this is the game for you.
