Last update: 20 September 2022
In F1 Manager 2022, during race simulation, it may turn out that there is a potential bug that makes overtaking slower cars more difficult. On this page of the guide, you can find tips on how to deal with this problem and how to make it less frequent.
Fortunately, the problem we describe occurs less often after one of the patches. Always make sure you have the latest version of F1 Manager 2022 installed . It is very likely that the bug will be quashed with further updates.
Problem in qualifying sessions
The problem described is particularly troublesome during qualifiers. Drivers on pitstop or exit laps may block you from overtaking even for a large part of the lap. The bug will cause your driver to be unable to overtake them, getting stuck behind them, ruining your chances of getting a good lap and result.
It is not possible to completely eliminate the problem, but you can limit it occurring - send your drivers to an empty or almost empty track so that they do not come across slower cars . The game offers a strategic view that allows you to assess the traffic on the circuit in advance. We've covered this in more detail on the Qualifying page in the Racing weekend chapter.
Problem during races
During races, this problem appears less frequently, but it can also be troublesome, making your blood boil. The bug in this case concerns doubled drivers . They can:
- not go to the side and delay your car - this is probably due to the fact that there are pre-set overtaking spots on the track and some may be far away;
- try to fight to reduce distance immediately after overtaking .
In either case, your lap time suffers and may let the leading opponents approach and try an overtake. Before overtaking the doubled driver, you can choose defensive settings, and right after the overtaking maneuver, select offensive settings to move away from him as soon as possible and resume your own race.
In certain cases, you can try to avoid a group of doubled drivers by pitstopping. However, do not perform this action if isn't reflected in your race strategy.
