You may remember Deathloop above all from a funny little paradox that became apparent some time ago. As you can see in the box above, the game is being developed for PC and PlayStation 5. Some time ago, however, we found out that the game's publisher, Bethesda Softworks, was acquired by Microsoft, the owner of Xbox, on which Deathloop will not appear. Yes, a very confusing matter indeed, but it is not the only vicious circle involving the aforementioned game. Heck, it's the core of the gameplay.
The developers have decided to focus on a rather exploited theme, introduced to the pop culture largely thanks to the movie Groundhog Day. It is based on the fact that a given character(s) repeatedly experiences the same timeframe, usually limited to 24 hours. Although they may interfere with their surroundings and try to change the vicious course of their looped life, they return to the starting point after some time no matter what they do. Deathloop puts us in the same situation - we control hired killers who are stuck in such loop. What is more, their every death causes their torment to begin from square one.
So what should we do to get out of this swamp? Well, our task will be to take out eight baddies in one day - if we achieve that, we will be free. It is not so easy, however, because they are defended by a ton of mercenaries, which we will only get rid of if we get detailed information on their location and behavior, as well as potential threats around us. After, we wouldn't want to die, now would we? Eliminating enemies should be quite pleasant, because Arkane Studios, the creators of Dishonored and Prey, are responsible for the game, and these games knew a thing or two about creative combat.
