The Far Cry series does not need any introductions, because Ubisoft has already got us used to it. We are quite regularly treated to subsequent installments and in fact we have a little more of them than indicated by the number above. Sticking with the official version, though, in 2021 we will receive the sixth main installment of Far Cry and the devs managed to advertise it so good that we are waiting for it a bit more than for its predecessors.

All this is because of two things - a new setting and a new antagonist. Mountainous, forested Montana will give way to fictional Yara, something like a cross between tropical Cuba and napalm-smelling Vietnam. The whole thing will adopt some truly revolutionary vibes, reminded of by Anton Castillo, the local ruthless dictator. Ubisoft took an example from CD Projekt RED and decided to advertise the title with the face of a well-known actor ( Breaking Bad or The Mandalorian) - Giancarlo Esposito. He is the one who will play the characteristic antagonist.

So I have a feeling that we don't have to worry about the story, because even potential shortcomings of the scrip can be covered up by Esposito's talent and skill. As for the gameplay itself, again, the creators will flood us with a ton of content scattered around a living open world. We have never complained about the shooting mechanics in the case of this series either, so we can't wait for the launch.

His adventure with journalism began with a personal blog, the name of which is no longer worth quoting. Then he interpreted Iranian dramas and the Joker, writing for cinematography journal, which, sadly, no longer exists. His writing credentials include a degree in film studies, but his thesis was strictly devoted to video games. He has been writing for Gamepressure since March 2020, first writing a lot about movies, then in the newsroom, and eventually, he became a specialist in everything. He currently edits and writes articles and features. A long-time enthusiast of the most bizarre indie games and arthouse cinema. He idolizes surrealism and postmodernism. He appreciates the power of absurdity. Which is probably why he also tried soccer refereeing for 2 years (with so-so results). He tends to over-philosophize, so watch out.
