Some of you are supposed to recognize this building, apparently.
  1. Why worth the wait: this is probably the most ambitious project of Bloober Team
  2. Release date: January 28, 2021 (game is currently available in early access)
  3. Genre: survival horror
  4. Platforms: PC, XSX/S

We were supposed to play Medium this year, but Bloober Team was forced to slightly delay the launch when the late Cyberpunk 2077 ruthlessly squeezed into the December release window. However, we have nothing against such a state of affairs, because it will actually make it easier to make some time for both games. The developers may not be as ambitious as CD Projekt Red for the time being (which might be a good thing), although it must be admitted that the upcoming The Medium is probably their most ambitious project in years.

Yes, Layers of Fear was a really atmospheric and mind-boggling walking simulator, Blair Witch drew from the famous series of horror films in spades, and The Observer was remembered for the great role of the already deceased Rutger Hauer. And The Medium? Not only does it focus on the original story set in a dark, surrealistic rendition of Krakow, Poland's historic capital, but it also involves several local stars. The Silent Hill vibes are also very noticeable as the main source of inspiration. Heck, the music for the game is prepared by none other than Akira Yamaoka, one of the fathers of the successes of that iconic Japanese series.

Everyone knows, however, that the plot and the audiovisual layer are not everything - it would be nice if The Medium also "clicked" the right wat. Also this aspect was thought of by the creators, who experiment with a quite interesting concept of key importance to the gameplay. The main character will be able to move on two planes - real and spiritual. These, of course, differ not only in their scenery but also in the individual elements necessary to solve some puzzles. How will this work in practice? We will find out soon.

His adventure with journalism began with a personal blog, the name of which is no longer worth quoting. Then he interpreted Iranian dramas and the Joker, writing for cinematography journal, which, sadly, no longer exists. His writing credentials include a degree in film studies, but his thesis was strictly devoted to video games. He has been writing for Gamepressure since March 2020, first writing a lot about movies, then in the newsroom, and eventually, he became a specialist in everything. He currently edits and writes articles and features. A long-time enthusiast of the most bizarre indie games and arthouse cinema. He idolizes surrealism and postmodernism. He appreciates the power of absurdity. Which is probably why he also tried soccer refereeing for 2 years (with so-so results). He tends to over-philosophize, so watch out.
