Try to loot all of the chests that you find, on a regular basis, because it may prove difficult to return to the ones that you missed earlier, or even impossible. Mostly, they hold standard, randomly-generated loot. The only situation, in which you can hope for something better, is after you deal with the strong opponent in the Southern dungeons of the castle.
