Dragon Age Inquisition: Attributes Dragon Age: Inquisition Guide
Last update: 06 June 2024
Each of the playable characters in Dragon Age: Inquisition is described by a number of attributes. As I already mentioned, the development of attributes is an automated process, i.e. the selected ones are raised the moment you progress to the next experience level. This does not mean, however, that you should not pay close attention to them, keeping in mind that they can be modified, e.g. thanks to wearing elements of armor with specific features.
The main character attributes are:
- Strength - without doubt, this is the main attribute for every warrior as it influences the effectiveness of his attacks. Apart from that, this parameter affects the value of the bonus that you receive while breaking through the Guard of an opponent.
- Dexterity - without doubt, this is the main attribute for every rogue as it affects the effectiveness of his attacks. Apart from that, this parameter affects the value of the bonus that you receive to critical damage.
- Magic - without doubt, this is the main attribute for every mage as it affects the effectiveness of his attacks. Apart from that, this parameter affects the value of the bonus that you receive, while breaking through magical barriers raised by the enemies.
- Cunning - this attribute affects the chance of dealing critical damage and the defense against ranged attacks.
- Willpower - this attribute affects the value of the damage that you deal, regardless of the class of your character. Apart from that, it improves your resistance to magic attacks.
- Constitution - this is an important attribute that affects, predominantly, the number of health points that each character has. Apart from that, it affects the effectiveness of defense in melee combat.
The remaining important attributes are:
- Armor Penetration - this attribute determines the extent to which armor of the opponent is ignored, while attacking him. The higher the value of the attribute, the higher the chance to deal more damage to the opponent, while ignoring the armor he is currently wearing.
- Critical Chance - the higher the percentile value of this attribute, the higher the chance of landing a critical strike.
- Flanking Damage Bonus - this attribute regulates bonus to the damage that you deal while attacking the opponent from the flank or from behind.
- Resistances - all of the attributes in this group allow you to take less damage from different elements (fire, ice, etc.)
- Guard - this attribute constitutes to an additional defense for the specific character. The attacking opponent needs to break the defenses first, and only then can he deal damage to the character.
- Armor Rating - This attribute informs you of the class of your armor. The higher the value, the better toleration of damage.
- Health - it is a good thing to make sure that this value is as high as it can get. Note - losing all the health does not mean the death of the character, because it only loses consciousness and can be healed by another party member. However, losing health by all the party members results in failure.
- Focus - this is an important attribute that, in a way, charges with damage that your party deals. Once you gather enough focus points, you can launch an additional attack.
- Mana/Stamina - both these attributes are required to launch abilities unlocked by the individual characters in the party.
