How to conquer villages in Ancestors Legacy?
- For sieges, use ranged units and siege equipment. If you can, you should focus on Archery Towers - they can decimate infantry in an instant.
- Try to set enemy buildings on fire - they will slowly lose their resistance. You should also hunt for carts with hay - when you set them on fire, an adjacent building will also burn.
- Next, you should target a well and buildings that recruit units. Water from wells is used by workers to put out fire which can complicate things for you. Buildings that recruit enemy units produce them at an extremely high rate.
- Another good method is to lure the enemies out from a town and into, e.g. traps.
- Hit & run tactic isn't always a good solution - in some of the missions your enemy can quickly repair their buildings. Here, it is better to use an all-out attack to destroy their base completely.
How to defend villages in Ancestors Legacy?
- Remember to defend conquered villages - enemies almost always try to recapture them. Invest in Archery Towers - sometimes, building them is impossible which means that you will have to defend settlements with your own units.
- The alarm option is very helpful during enemy raids - workers return to a Town Hall. After that they will start shooting at enemies. This can slow the enemies down and allow you to counterattack.
- Try to always have at least one Shieldbearers unit near a settlement. Enemies like to send ranged units to shoot at buildings from a safe distance. Archery Towers are useless here - this is a job for your army.
- Traps are also helpful here - they can eliminate even a few enemy squads.
