How to upgrade weapons? Wolfenstein II Guide
Last update: 06 November 2017
Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus offers a wide array of different weapons that can be used in combat. What's more, each of them can be modified in several ways by using the weapon upgrade kits - special toolkits that can be found across the game. You can learn their localization in the "Collectibles" chapter.
If you have at leas one free upgrade kit, all you need to do is to open the weapon screen, select the relevant weapons and decide which upgrade to "buy". Once the selection is done, you just have to confirm your choice, using up the upgrade kit in the process and adding a new trait to the weapon. There are a few things worth remembering when it comes to upgrades:
- The first upgrade you should buy is the increased magazine capacity for Laserkraftwerk / Dieselkraftwerk - the weapon you're given at the beginning of the second mission in the first chapter. This will enable you to double its magazine capacity, significantly increasing the weapon's overall effectiveness.
- Don't buy upgrades for weapons you do not use, as the number of upgrade kits is limited - make them count.
- Weapon upgrades are permanent - you cannot remove them and install in another weapon.
- If you've got several upgrade kits at hand, don't waste them on the first thing you see - as you'll progress through the game, you'll unlock new weapons. They may have upgrades that you'll like better.
You cannot upgrade weapons that aren't permanently in your inventory - an example of such weapon would be the Lesergewehr, a heavy laser that can be picked up after defeated Super Soldaten.
