During the first hours of gameplay, it's worthwhile to focus on improvements that give bonuses to your experience points, allow you to use your new skills, or make it easier to craft and upgrade your weapons. For this reason it is worth to be interested in the following abilities:

1. Experience Bonus - gives you a 20% bonus on the number of experience points you earn. This bonus is already a big boost, but you can combine it with the one available during camping - bivouac (10%) to earn a 30% bonus to gained experience. This significantly accelerates the development of characters.
2. Parachute - allows you to open the parachute to absorb the fall damage. It's great while traveling by helicopter, but can also help you get out of a tall building.
3. Perk slot - unlocks the second perk slot - a passive ability that increases the effectiveness of character to a large extent or gives an additional bonus. It is worthwhile to unlock this ability at an early stage of the game and even despite the cost of 2 skill points - as perks often provide huge bonuses.
4. Night Vision - allows you to use the night vision device, which in the case of fighting at night may bring a huge relief.
5. Thermal Vision - allows you to use thermal vision that makes it much easier to locate enemies, whether at night or during battles in areas full of obstacles, such as forests.
6. Better Dismantle - allows you to get a lot more crafting materials from disassembling weapons to simple parts. A must-have ability that should be unlocked as early as possible to maximize the effect.
7. Rocket Launcher - allows you to use the rocket launcher. They're great at fighting helicopters and other heavy armored targets. Additional rockets can be bought in the shop or made by yourself.
8. Resources Detection - makes nearby resources visible on the mini-map. A great facilitation that helps to trace crafting materials that are invisible by default.
9. Recon Mastery - perk that adds 50 points of experience to your character when a drone tracks an enemy. The bonus may seem small, but the points accumulate very quickly, especially when fighting in larger enemy outposts - and you'll still be able to mark your enemies with a drone.
10. Sync shot drone - unlocks a new type of utility item that can be used for synchronous shots. This allows you to tag up to 4 enemies and then activate an item to eliminate them instantly. It works well in places where you can't eliminate multiple targets without triggering an alarm.
