Southern Isles are the smallest part of Skellige archipelago. You won't find many interesting places there. Mostly Smuggler's Caches, Spoils of War and Treasure Hunts.

Care about your boat. Both the distance between the location and other islands, and between the isles that are part of the region are quite long. If you lose your ship due to sirens attack or by hitting a rock, returning to the dry land might take even more than a dozen of minutes. There are no signposts in the South Islands for fast travel.
Except for sirens, you won't find any enemies here. Because of that, you can visit this place even while on low character level. By searching the chests you will obtain some valuable items that can be sold or used.
