On this page of our game guide you can find out how many superheroes are available in Marvel's Avengers and how to unlock them in the campaign mode and multiplayer mode (Avengers Initiative).
In Marvel's Avengers you will be able to play as various superheroes well-known from the movies and comics, namely: Hulk, Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, Ms Marvel, Thor. Each character has unique equipment and different types of skills, which make the gameplay very unique. Below we have prepared some tips on how to unlock all characters available in Marvel's Avengers in both campaign mode and multiplayer mode.
Campaign - how to unlock superheroes?
Not all characters, that were featured in Marvel's Avengers, are immediately available in the single-player mode, which has a form of the story campaign. At the very beginning you will be able to control only one character. You will be able to recruit more superheroes over time and add them to your team after completing a specific mission.

Kamala Khan (Ms Marvel) - how to unlock?
Kamala Khan is the first character that can be unlocked on your list, as she is available at the very beginning of the main story campaign (single player mode). In the first chapter of the campaign, you play as Kamala before she has gained her powers. You will get the full control of her abilities in the second chapter of the story campaign.
Hulk - how to unlock?
The Hulk is one of the playable characters in Marvel's Avengers and the First Avenger that can be recruited into your team. You can unlock The Hulk soon after you find the Chimera ship. After completing the Missing Links mission, Hulk will permanently join your team.
Iron Man - how to unlock?
Iron Man is one of the playable characters in Marvel's Avengers and the second Avenger that can be recruited into your team. You can unlock Iron Man after you complete the House Call mission, which occurs quite shortly after unlocking Hulk. After you complete this task, the Iron Man will join your team permanently.
Black Widow - how to unlock?
Black Widow is one of the playable characters in Marvel's Avengers and the third Avenger that can be recruited into your team. Black Widow can be unlocked after completing To Stand Alone mission. After completing this task, Black Widow will be automatically added to your superheroes list.
Thor - how to unlock?
Thor (God of Thunder) is one of the playable characters in Marvel's Avengers and the fourth Avenger that can be recruited into your team. Thor will be unlocked quite late, that is, after completing the Testing... 1... 2... 3... mission. After completing this task, Thor will be automatically added to your superheroes list.
Captain America - how to unlock?
Captain America is one of the playable characters in Marvel's Avengers and the last Avenger that can be recruited into your team. Captain America will be unlocked at the same moment as Thor, that is, after completing the Testing... 1... 2... 3... mission.
Multiplayer (Avengers Initiative) - how to unlock all heroes?
If you are not interested in the story campaign mode in Marvel's Avengers and you want to jump into multiplayer mode right away, then you can quickly unlock access to all Avengers without the need of completing the single-player mode. After logging into the game, get below Chimera's deck and complete Iron Man's tutorial in the HARM room. This way you will unlock access to the war table and to all characters.
Important note! Launching the multiplayer mode before completing the single player story campaign will result in a lot of spoilers. If you're interested in learning the story told in Marvel's Avengers, we recommend you to complete the single-player campaign mode beforehand.
