In this chapter of Marvel's Avengers guide, we discuss all the enemies you encounter throughout the game.
Marvel's Avengers features many opponents - some will be easy to beat, and others can cause you a lot of problems. It is important to know their skills, as well as their strengths and weaknesses, to beat them. Below is a list of all the opponents appearing in Marvel's Avengers divided by type. We also included a handful of tips that can help you during the fights.
Synthoids
Synthoids are one of the types of enemies in Marvel's Avengers. These robots were programmed to work hard, but also to fight Inhumans. Each is equipped with a different weapon and has different attacks.

Synthoid The basic Synthoid model encountered in all types of missions. It has no equipment, but is capable of hand-to-hand combat and incapacitates a single target for a brief moment. | |
Prime Adept Synthoid An enhanced version of Synthoid equipped with a charged metal rod. It uses the weapon to fight at a close and long distance. This type of Synthoid has much better armor. | |
Prime Cryo Synthoid An improved combat version of the regular Cryo Synthoid. This robot is equipped with a charged rod that can instantly freeze and immobilise intruders - even when they are a considerable distance away. | |
Spin Synthoid A unique type of Synthoid that uses special nanobots to block superpowers. It can quickly suck energy out of heroes and deprive them of the ability to use their heroic skills. It's an extremely dangerous opponent that should be eliminated as first. | |
Cryo Synthoid A special robot that has been programmed to take control of the battlefield. This enemy has a unique weapon that freezes and immobilizes targets. Avoid his cryogenic attacks in order not to get frozen and defenseless for a few valuable seconds. | |
Elite Synthoid A specialized combat robot that has been equipped with a deadly laser weapon - the weapon's attacks cannot be blocked so you can only avoid them by performing dodges. | |
Prime Aegis Synthoid A robot designed for special tasks. His main weapon is a large club charged with terrigenic energy. The special ability of this hostile machine is an energy shield which can be spawned in a specific area. The shield absorbs all incoming attacks. Therefore, in order to effectively defeat all enemies that use the shield for protection, you will have to walk through the barrier. | |
Adept Synthoid The most versatile and dangerous type of combat robot. This enemy uses quantum teleportation technology to perform dodges and fly around the battlefield. Each time he disappears, he leaves behind a grenade which can immobilize your hero. The main weapon of this robot are the ranged projectiles that inflict heavy damage on direct hit. Synthoid Adept also uses an intelligent mini-drone that searches for enemies. |
Proto-Synthoids
Proto-Synthoids are one of the enemy types in Marvel's Avengers. Robots of this type have been programmed to launch massive attacks on the enemy, spray toxic gas, or perform suicide attacks that result in a powerful explosion.

Proto-Synthoid The basic model of Proto-Synthoid. This machine doesn't possess any weapons but attacks in groups and can cause some trouble during battles with more dangerous opponents. | |
Blitz Proto-Synthoid Robots that have been programmed to charge at the enemy and explode on impact. The best way to eliminate this opponent is to use ranged attacks. If you've been forced to fight with Blitz Proto-Synthoid in close range then make sure you're not standing in the red circle at the time of the detonation. | |
Plague Proto-Synthoid These machines release toxic gas when they get hit. If you stay in the contaminated area, you will receive damage over time. It is best to eliminate them from a safe distance by using ranged attacks. |
Riotbots
Riotbots are one of the enemy types that can be encountered in Marvel's Avengers. These specialized combat units are equipped with shields or electric defensive fields. Fighting them won't be that easy.

Riotbot Riotbots are equipped with a shield that protects them from ordinary and even heavy attacks. You can smash their shields by using heavy attacks or by jumping over them and using the dodge button. Riotbots can also throw grenades. | |
Stiletto Riotbot An extremely dangerous opponent equipped with melee swords and a defensive power field. They perform quick attacks and inflict a lot of damage. It's better not to jump over them, because your heroes may get severely electrocuted. | |
Phase Riotbot A technologically advanced combat robot that uses phase-penetrating technology to pass through obstacles and dodge enemy attacks. This opponent is completely insensitive during phasing, but can be stunned or counterattacked. This way, you can expose it to another attack. |
Beekeepers
AIM Beekeepers are one of the enemy types in Marvel's Avengers. They usually reside in larger groups on the maps and try to surround the enemy in order to perform a massive attack. The vast majority of them is not immune to melee strikes. Therefore, two or three quick strikes can eliminate them. The exception here are elite units like Peacekeepers and Elite Peacekeepers.

Keeper The basic type of AIM soldier that is equipped with a ranged weapon. Single enemies of this type don't cause much damage but a larger squad of these units may seriously reduce your hero's health. | |
Aero Keeper Soldiers equipped with jet-packs and long-range weapons. They do not pose a major threat and do not inflict significant damage, but they can annoyingly bite your heroes during combat and interrupt their actions. Therefore, it is worth to eliminate them first. You can easily bring them down to the ground by hitting their jet-pack. | |
Adept Keeper Specialized units that can fire homing missiles. These missiles can badly hurt your hero on impact, but can be avoided if you react at the right time. | |
Cry Keeper Soldiers who use special long-range cryogenic weapons which can freeze and immobilize targets. Avoid their attacks in order not to get frozen - especially when fighting more opponents. | |
Aegis Keeper These AIM units were equipped with special energy shields and are specialized in melee combat. You can break through their defenses by using enhanced heavy attacks. | |
Purge Keeper Soldiers who were equipped with special suits and toxic biological weapons. During the battle, they can fire toxic grenades which create a contaminated area after explosion. Do not stand in this area in order to avoid damage over time. | |
Spin Keeper A specialized unit of AIM soldiers that uses nanobots which block special powers of superheroes. They attack from a distance so they must be quickly approached and eliminated. Otherwise, they may deprive Avengers of their heroic abilities and superpowers. | |
Peacekeeper Soldiers trained for long-distance combat, who are also proficient in the art of teleportation. Due to their teleport ability, they can suddenly disappear. This makes them pretty hard to hit. If you manage to hit such an opponent, try to eliminate him before he falls to the ground or before he stands up after being knocked down. This way you won't give him a chance to escape. | |
Elite Peacekeeper An elite squad of soldiers who have been trained to quickly eliminate targets from a long distance. Elite Peacekeepers have been equipped with void suits that allow them to quickly teleport on the battlefield. If you get hit by their projectile then your hero will lose 20% of health points. You have to dodge their attacks at all costs. |
Quad Mechs
Four-legged mechs are one of the enemy types in Marvel's Avengers. These machines are equipped with various types of ranged weapons, but they are also quite effective in melee combat. Because of their thick armor, they are very resistant to attacks.

Dreadbot These four-legged AIM combat robots are extremely durable and can withstand attacks of multiple opponents. Avoid laser guns and turrets in order not to receive heavy damage. In melee combat, Dreadbot is able to perform a flamethrower attack. To make it easier fighting this opponent, first destroy the side turrets on his shoulders. | |
Aegis Dreadbot Just like in case of the regular Dreadbot, this variant is also extremely durable and has additional combat equipment. Moreover, it was also equipped with energy weapons. To make it easier fighting this opponent, first destroy the side turrets on his shoulders. | |
Mega Dreadbot A larger, much more durable and more deadly variant of the Dreadbot. Also, it has additional offensive equipment. The combat tactics that should be used against this opponent are pretty much the same - first of all, you have to destroy the side turrets on his shoulders. | |
Blitz Dreadbot This specially modified Dreadbot was equipped with turrets and a deadly mortar. The latter weapon spreads explosives across the entire battlefield. To make it easier fighting this opponent, first destroy the side turrets on his shoulders. |
Exos
Exos are one of the enemy types in Marvel's Avengers. These massive mechanical exo-skeletons are very large and AIM soldiers use them for many purposes, including combat.

Monotronic Exo Powerful mechanical armor that is used in combat by AIM soldiers. The Exo mechanical suit can attack your heroes with extraordinary force, inflict area of effect damage and launch ranged attacks. During combat, try to back-stab the enemy in the Exo armor in order to inflict additional damage. | |
Elite Exo A stronger version of the ordinary Exo mechanical armor. However, it's highly unstable. After it gets severely damaged, it explodes, causing heavy damage over a large area. Thus, try not to stand nearby at the time of the explosion. During combat try to attack the Exo suit in the back to inflict additional damage | |
Cryotronic Exo A special variant of the Exo mechanical suit that can freeze and immobilize your heroes from a long distance. When fighting this opponent you have to dodge every projectile in order not to get immobilized, especially when fighting more opponents. Drones
Drones are one of enemy types in Marvel's Avengers. Most drones don't inflict significant damage (the exception here is the Adept Drone) but they are extremely annoying and disturbing during battles with more more dangerous opponents so it is worth eliminating them first.

Swarm Drone Specialized flying units that provide special cover to all AIM units that are located in their vicinity. The protected units cannot be damaged in any way until the Swarm Drone gets destroyed. Therefore, you have to attack it first. | |
Plague Drone Plague Drones were equipped with dangerous chemical charges and programmed for crowd control activities. Run away from toxic clouds of gas to avoid damage over time. | |
Security Drone Drones of this type were equipped with light defensive weapons. They do not cause much damage, but are able to alert other AIM troops of your presence. | |
Spin Drone A specialized type of AIM drone that uses nanobots to block heroes superpowers. Try to eliminate them in the first place so that they won't deprive the Avengers of their superpowers and heroic skills. | |
Adept Drone Drones that use specialized homing missiles in combat. These projectiles can fly for a long time and track their targets. Missiles fired by this drone can be destroyed, you don't need to avoid them. |
Adaptoids
Adaptoids are one of the enemy types in Marvel's Avengers. All Adaptoids are extremely resistant to attacks, can regenerate their lost health, and can inflict heavy damage in melee combat as well as in ranged combat. Each has at least one ranged attack that cannot be blocked, as well as other additional model-specific features. Adaptoids can also suck power out of heroes and deprive them of their ability to use heroic skills. This happens when Adaptoid successfully catches and grips a hero during melee combat.

Adaptoid The basic version of the Adaptoid that was created to use the powers gained from Inhumans. This basic version is equipped with long-range optical weapons, but is also extremely dangerous in melee combat. | |
Assault Adaptoid The Assault Adaptoid possesses fire abilities acquired from Inhumans. This enemy has a fire shield which inflicts damage to all heroes that will stand near it. If possible, attack this opponent from a distance in order not to receive damage from his fire shield. Also, dodge his laser attacks. | |
Cryo Adaptoid The Cryo Adaptoid possesses freezing abilities acquired from Inhumans. His attacks can slow down and freeze your heroes. During the fight, you have to be extremely vigilant and dodge the incoming attacks. | |
Adept Adaptoid Adept Adaptoid possesses kinetic abilities. During the battle, he uses powerful area of effect attacks and also protects himself with a shield made of metal shards. By using ranged attacks you can break down individual pieces of the shield and bring this opponent to the ground. |
Mercenaries
Mercenaries are one of the enemy types in Marvel's Avengers. These units are equipped with different weapons (for melee and ranged combat) so you will have to use different techniques during combat to defeat them.

Reaper A mercenary unit specialized in melee comba. However, they can also use ranged weapons. | |
Aero Reaper Specialized mercenaries equipped with rocket launchers and long-range weapons. They are well-trained in fighting against flying heroes (Iron Man, Thor) and can quickly knock them down to the ground. | |
Assault Reaper Mercenaries specialized in ranged combat. Single Assault Reapers won't pose any threat, but in a group they can severely injure your hero and interfere with other activities. | |
Aegis Reaper Aegis Reapers are the only mercenaries equipped with shields. To defeat them, you will have to smash their shields with a heavy attack, or jump over them and knock them off balance by performing a dodge. |
Cerbers
Cerbers is the name of a radical anti-hero organization and one of the enemy types Marvel's Avengers. Soldiers belonging to this organization are special units that were trained to fight against Inhumans. They have been hired by AIM to perform various search and rescue missions.

Hellhound A soldier equipped with a destructive flamethrower. The Hellhound's weapon can injure several targets at once when they are close enough to each other. Keep them at a distance and attack them while standing out of the range of the flames. | |
Shockmutt Soldiers that use electricity during combat to stun their enemies and inflict additional damage on them. They have a shield that can be destroyed by using reinforced heavy attacks. Shockmutt can also be fooled - jump over its head and perform a dodge. You will knock them out of balance and expose them to attacks. | |
Skydog These units support their comrades from the air. Thanks to their jet-packs they can stay out of enemy range and attack your heroes from a safe distance. Try to use ranged attacks and knock them out of the sky first, so that they do not interfere with the fight against ground units. |
