Talents The Technomancer Guide
Last update: 29 June 2016
There are six talents in The Technomancer, and each one of those can be developed up to the third level. You will be given a talent point each 4 levels of experience. Additionally, you can increase those talents by using specific clothing, such as the Doctor's Coat, which increases the Science of the character by 1 point. Another method is to have friendly relations with specific companions. Completing quests, speaking with them and having a high level of Karma will allow you to get the status of a Friend and unlock a bonus to a specific talent (more on that can be found in the Companions and factions chapter).
Charisma
Charisma - a very important parameter, especially if you like to focus on peaceful solutions. An important part of dialogue system, allowing you to complete quests in various ways, often avoiding combat or gaining money. Each additional point in that talent increases the chances of success in conversations by 25%. Additionally:
- Level 1 - 20% reduction in trader's prices.
- Level 2 - +20% attack of your companions.
- Level 3 - +20% health of your companions.
Science
Science - a parameter that isn't very special and you can skip on it. You should, however, invest a single point it in the early game, as it will increase the health regeneration of your character. This talent allows, similarly to the Charisma, to use science-related dialogue options and it increases their chances of success (each level increases the chances of science-related dialogue options by 25%), but those type of dialogue options are rare. Additionally:
- Level 1 - significantly increases health regeneration of your character (and your companions) when outside combat.
- Level 2 - Allows you to heal companions during combat.
- Level 3 - Allows you to restore 25% of a companion's life with a syringe.
Crafting
Crafting, as you can imagine, is associated with the Workshop and construction of upgrades for weapons and attire. Similarly to the Science it also unlocks "technical" dialogue options (increasing their chances by 25% for each point), but those are also very rare. However, you shouldn't neglect this attribute, as higher levels of it allow you to create more powerful upgrades (those, however, won't appear until chapter II). Additionally:
- Level 1 - allows you to disassemble items outside of the Workshop.
- Level 2 - allows you to use more advanced upgrade blueprints.
- Level 3 - allows you to use most advanced upgrade blueprints.
Stealth
Stealth is associated with sneaking, sneak attacks and pickpocketing. Those actions are available from the very beginning of the game, but developing this talent will increase their effectiveness. This is especially the case when you are thinking about performing sneak attacks - the basic level of this ability will only deal light damage to the enemy, taking Power points and alarming the enemies in the area in the process. Additionally:
- Level 1 - allows you to use sneak attacks and pickpocketing on monsters.
- Level 2 - sneak attacks will shock the enemy, paralyzing him momentarily. Additionally, those attacks are a guaranteed critical hits. You will be able to move faster while sneaking.
- Level 3 - sneak attacks won't cost you Power points, paralyzed enemy won't attract attention of the nearby enemies and he will often be taken down with a single attack.
Traps / Lockpicking
Traps / Lockpicking - this ability is the key for every collector. Each level allows you to open locks of the same level. Additionally, each level increases the effectiveness of traps - immensely helpful when playing as a Rogue. Additionally:
- Level 1 - faster laying of traps in combat, ability to open locks of level 1.
- Level 2 - increased trap damage, ability to open locks of level 2.
- Level 3 - cheaper trap manufacturing, ability to open locks of level 3.
Exploration
Exploration is a "side" talent, associated with gathering and enrichment, but also with Crafting. It increases the amount of loot you found in the world. Each level of this talent increases the chances of acquiring loot (mainly from fallen enemies) by 10%. Additionally:
- Level 1 - allows you to acquire crafting materials from fallen monsters.
- Level 2 - chests and items that can be collected are now highlighted.
- Level 3 - allows you to create single-use items (such as traps) outside of the Workshop. You also gain 25% more components from disassembling items.
