Side quests in the Mutant Valley The Technomancer Guide

In this chapter you will learn about quests waiting for you in Mutant Valley. These quests include: In search for her Father, Gloaria, Brothers in Arms, Confession.

The Mutant Valley, as the name suggests, is a hideout of the local mutants inhabiting the planet. You will gain access to the location after starting chapter III and after completing the Escort in the Desert quest. You won't find many quests in this location as you did in Ophir or Noctis. By completing main and side quests you automatically increase your reputation at the Mutants, you won't need to do anything else to gain their approval. Completing the last main quests in this location will end the game.

In search of her father

Rewards for completing the quest: see the end of the chapter, possible love affair with Amelia

How to unlock: talk to Amelia in chapter III, you have to complete her earlier quests connected with her father

Tasks:

  1. Convince Captain Eliza to carry out research
  2. Optional: Wait for Captain Eliza Major to complete her research [waiting time: 12 hours]
  3. Find the rover
  4. Search the area
  5. Save Scott
  6. Find someone who witnessed Scott and Alan's meeting
  7. Get testimony as to what was said at the meeting
  8. Enter the room to speak with Scott in private
  9. Get Scott to confess

Note - proceed carefully here, Scott may die here. Read thoroughly information in this walkthrough to prevent losing him. Completing this quest also open the way to a love affair with Amelia - to achieve that, talk to her after the quest ends and meet with her in your room.

Amelia still wants to search for information on her father. There are two leads to follow here: ask Eliza Major for help and go to the location where the wrecked rover is. First, talk to Eliza. You have to wait for 12 hours until she finds the information you require and this will be possible only if your level of Charisma is high. This is not a mandatory step to take.

After you go to the rover's location, you will find a white tablet behind it. If your Charisma is not high enough, do not give it to Amelia in one of the dialogue options. If you give the device to her, the only way to save Scott will be persuasion. If you decide not to give the tablet to the girl, you can later talk to Cpt. Eliza, which will successfully complete the quest.

Rewards for completing the quest:

  • 500 EXP, +2 rep. Amelia, if you manage to obtain information from Cpt. Eliza;
  • +2 Karma, if you save Scott using Charisma or by not giving the tablet to Amelia;

Gloria

Rewards for completing the quest: possibility of a love affair with Niesha, 500 EXP, +3 rep. Niesha

  • Find Gloria in Noctis

This is the shortest quest in the game, after you have talked to Niesha at the beginning of chapter III, go to Noctis. In the palace, at the ground floor, to the left of the entrance, there is a locked door in the wall (it is barely visible from afar). After you walk inside with Niesha and watch a cutscene, you will complete the quest. You can now start a love affair with your companion, by talking to her and going to your room with her.

Brothers in arms

Rewards for completing the quest: possibility of a love affair with Andrew, 500 EXP, +2 rep. Andrew

How to unlock: : talk to Andrew in chapter III, you have to complete her companion quests, i.e. allow Andrew to become a technomancer

In this quest, you have to go to the temporary location and initiate Andrew, thanks to which he becomes a technomancer. The quest is only about traveling to the location, following several corridors without any fights and seeing the cutscene. After the quest ends, you can talk to Andrew, to start a love affair with him, which ends in a meeting in your room.

Confession

Reward for completing the quest: -2/+3 rep. Scott, 500 EXP

How to unlock: you will receive this quest at the gates of the Mutant Valley after completing the Under Threat quest. You can continue it only after you receive access to the village in the Escort in the desert quest. Scott must be alive.

Tasks:

Go back to Noctis and meet with Dandolo in order to receive another task to the quest. Then, in the mutant village, you will have to meet with one of the mutants marked on the map. Then you must go to your room in any city and speak with Scott (while standing at the bed an conversation option will appear that will lead to cutscene).

During the conversation you must properly select dialogue options in order to succeed. Each available options (including persuasion by using Charisma) will lead to successful ending (other positive options are related to Amelia and quests done for her - if you haven't completed them, then persuasion will be the only good option). If you push without giving facts, then you will finish the quest but your reputation at Scott will drop.

Armed for freedom

Reward for completing the quest: 1000 EXP, +1 rep. Mutants

How to unlock: by completing A guide for a young nation main quest

Tasks:

  • Steal weapons from the barrack stores
  • Give the weapons to the mutants
  • Train the mutants in combat with their new weapons

Quartermaster

You will start the quest by speaking to the Quartermaster in the Mutant Valley. One of the objectives - the one related to getting the weapons from the barracks - should be automatically achieved if you completed the earlier side quests. Then go back to the Quartermaster.

Go to the marked part of the village where you will find a group of five mutants. You must defeat them as part of the training in order to complete this quest.

Feuding brothers

Reward for completing the quest: 500 EXP, +3 rep. Phobos

  • Find out who was responsible for the failures for the Phobos missions
  • Catch up with Seth and Daimos

Phobos

You will receive this quest from Phobos. It is another companion quest. Speak with the female trader in Mutant Valley, near the main game (Information about the Aurora attack) and then with the second man on the road around the city.

Later during this quest you must go again to the location called Canyon where you will find two hostile mutants with bodyguards. Defeat them in order to complete the quest.

Reward for completing the quest: +1 rep. Mutants, 1000 EXP, 150 Serum

How to unlock: by completing the Powder in the wheels quest

Tasks:

  • Have a bomb made
  • Wait until the bomb is ready
  • Recover the bomb
  • Give the bomb to the mutant docker at the Ophir station
  • Steal the containers of food
  • Deliver the containers of food

The citizen standing near the main gate in Mutant Valley with whom you met earlier (the mutant leader in the Slums) has a simple task for you. Deliver a trap to him and he will prepare a bomb (you must wait 24 hours). Then take it from him.

You must take it to the Exchange, to the train station. There you will find a mutant to whom you must give the cargo (of course, he will be guarded).

This isn't the end of the quest. Once again you must get to the Canyon, to the place where Scott was held. Jump over the wall (the gate is closed), get rid of the security and find five large, red containers in order to take what's inside. Then you can go back to the questgiver for reward.

A well in the desert

Reward for completing the quest: -1 rep. Noctis/Army (you can choose), +1 rep. Mutants, 1000 EXP, 200 Serum

How to unlock: by completing A guide for a young nation main quest and then speaking to Scum

Tasks:

  • Find the artesian water pump
  • Steal the part from the Noctis generator
  • Steal the part from the Ophir generator
  • Repair the pump
  • Report back to Scum

Scum will ask you to help in fixing the well. Go near it. You must take the longer road because the gate ahead will be closed. Behind the city you will encounter a large toad, similar to the one in the Escort in the desert quest. Just like then, try using lightning, attacking from the side or from the back (while avoiding the poison).

Examine the well once you reach it. You can obtain the broken pump from Ophir or with Noctis - depending on what you choose. In Ophir all you need to do is enter the stairs through which you can get to the back of the Exchange. There you will find red pump which can be disassembled with the action button. In Noctis the pump is located behind the gate which will be open if you completed Wind turbine robbery quest. Otherwise you will need Lock 2 ability.

The choice is important since the faction you steal from (Noctis/Army) will be aware of that and you will slightly lose its respect (-1 rep.). Once you get the part, go back to the pump and fix it (Amelia can do it). You will finish the quest.

Help the rebel slaves

Reward for completing the quest: 1000 EXP, 250 Serum, +1 rep. Mutants

Tasks:

  • Go to the mutant corral in Ophir
  • Free the imprisoned mutants
  • Escort the mutants
  • Report back to Scum

The quest is easy and short. You must go to the warehouse in Slums where mutants are held. At the end of the building there is a closed gate (Locks 3). One powerful mutant is guarding it, you must defeat him in first order so that you won't have to worry about the lock. Take the key from him.

Once the mutants are freed, escort them from the building (two weak groups of mutants will attack you). Once outside, lead them to the closest entrance to the Sewers. Then you must return to Scum for reward.

Reward for completing the quest: +1 rep. Mutants, 1000 EXP, 100 Serum

  • Find a major relic in the Ophir chapel
  • Find a major relic in the Noctis chapel
  • Give the relics to Scum

In this quest you must reach the technomancers temple in Ophir. You can get there in two ways: traditionally by walking through the guarded building behind the Exchange (where Eliza Major is standing) or you can try getting there through the underground passage through which you escaped with technomancers in the main quest (you will need Andrew who has technomancer abilities to open the gate).

Once you reach the temple, walk through the door to the small room and search the unlocked chest. There you will find one of two relics.

The second artifact is located in Noctis. If you completed Holy theft quest, then you will have no trouble with taking the artifacts from the locked chest near the stairs (Locks 1). If you haven't completed the quest, you will have get through the security by jumping on the higher level on the right side - the guards on the stairs won't let you int. Once you get there, you will be attacked. Defeat the enemy and take the artifact.
