Serum and gaining experience The Technomancer Guide

Experience points
In The Technomancer players won't be able to complain about the amount of experience point they gain. You will be earning it mainly for completing main and side quests, as well as by fighting and defeating enemies. Each quest will yield about 500-1000 EXP. The amount of experience points gained from defeating an enemy depends on his level, not the difficulty. During the early phase of the game you will be able to earn a large amount of experience points in The Underworks, where you can find a lot of monster enemies. After some time the monsters you've killed will respawn. You will also be fighting numerous enemies during completion of various quests. Additionally, if any of the factions are hostile towards you, you will be constantly attacked by them.
A definitely faster way of accumulating experience points is to defeat enemies. After acquiring the required amount of EXP you will advance to the next level. Your character will gain a new ability point that can be assigned to the skill tree. Each three and four levels you will also be able to assign a point to talents and attributes.
Serum - in-game currency
Serum can be acquired through various means. The main source of income are quests, which at the same time is the second most-effective source of Serum in the game, right after collecting and selling items. In this case you can collect almost anything from the very beginning of the game - your backpack has a lot of space and filling it completely is a difficult task. If you start collecting items from chests and fallen enemies early enough, you shouldn't have any problems with money.
An alternative source of Serum is extracting them from defeated enemies. This isn't the recommended option, as you will kill enemies and the Karma of your character will be decreased. This in turn can cause some serious problems in relations with other character in the game. Additionally, this method is ineffective - each time you will be earning about 20 Serum. The last method of acquiring this currency is pickpocketing. Unfortunately, like with extracting it from enemies, this method isn't profitable as well (you will gain a few "pieces" of Serum each time you do it).
Trade
Various traders are located in different districts of the city. Each one of them offers a different set of items, but also the same prices of purchasing / selling them. An advantage of it is that you will be able to repurchase it later from a specific trader. On the other hand, rare items that traders have only a single piece of should be treated with respect - after destroying (dismantling for crafting materials) / losing it you will have problems acquiring a similar item.
Traders in further locations, such as Noctis offer newer and better equipment. Your progress in the story won't affect the type of items that traders in previously visited locations have. Some of the traders will also sell blueprints that are required to gain access to new weapon mods. New blueprints will be unlocked in subsequent chapters and locations associated with them.
