Finding Earth | Chapter 3 Quests The Technomancer Guide
This chapter is focused on most important quests that end the game: Polar Expedition and Hello Earth, this is Mars.
Last update: 02 February 2017
Finding Earth quest is a series of three smaller quests that must be done in chapter III. The first quest (Rescue operation) becomes available soon after reaching the Mutant Valley. Two other become available once you complete other main quests in this location. Hello Earth, this is Mars quest is the final mission in the game. Before starting it make sure that you completed all side quests and that you are perfectly prepared for the final journey.
Rescue operation
Reward for completing the quest: 2000 EXP
How to unlock: after completing Under threat main quest. The quest will be later continued after you complete the A guide for a young nation) quest.
Tasks:
- Wait to find out where the Patience has been taken
- Go to the old dome
- Free the Patience
- Talk to Patience and leave the dome
After completing the Under threat mission, information about this quest will appear in your journal. However, you will have to wait until you complete A guide for a young nation in order to continue this task. After leaving the city one of the companions will talk to you and show you the newest data. You will learn that Patience is held in the old dome in the location you completed in the tutorial. This time it is better guarded by many opponents. You won't find any surprise here and almost all opponents can be eliminated silently.
Once you kill all guards, search the bodies of the ones at the prison. You will find a key (you can open the lock without a key but you will need the Locks ability on level 3). The conversation with the prisoner can be led in any way you want, it will always end with the same result. Once you return to Mutant Valley, go speak with Scum. This is the last action you must perform.
Polar expedition
Reward for completing the quest: 2000 EXP
How to unlock: after completing the Rescue operation main quest and objectives of the level The harder they fall.
Tasks:
- Find clothing adapter to the polar cold
- Go to the Ophir shed with Scott and Amelia
- Find Amelia's father's notes
- Make the icebreaker
- Go back to the lost dome
- Find an insulating coating for the rover
- Return to the Mutant Valley
- Ask Amelia to get the rover ready
- Wait for Amelia to finish the rover ready [waiting time: 12 hours]
This is the penultimate main quest available in the game. If you want to prepare yourself and complete side quests, then during this mission and after completing it you will have time for that.
First you must find warm clothes. These can be stolen from the enemy base entrance to which is located near Eliza Major, behind the Stock. Inside the building there is a pipe which is actually a secret entrance to the underground complex.
Go to the hangar in the Slums with Amelia and with Scott (unless Scott is dead - then the dialogue with him will be skipped and the information required to complete the quest should be given to you by Amelia. This is sometimes bugged).
In first order you must go to the small shed inside the building. There speak with both companions. Ask them about all details. You will find the first clue in the box at the door (interaction is possible only after you speak with your companions!). Speak again with Amelia after collecting the clue and then with Scott. Now you can walk to the closed safe with code and open it.
Inside you will find a key. It will open the secret passage behind the wall on the opposite side of the building, in the right corner. Once you walk just under the wall, you will notice a keyhole on it. Information about available interaction will appear as well. Open the stash and you will find the documents you seek.
In next order you must walk to any workshop and create an icebreaker. The procedure of creating it will be available under a different key, not in the upgrade menu.
The penultimate step requires you to go to the old dome. There you will find three yellow chests marked on the map. They contain the materials you need. You will easily get the first one...
Two next chests are guarded by Gorilla. Watch out especially for his "insect" attack, if you are hit your health will gradually drop. It is best to attack him from a jump between his attacks.
Once you collect what you find in the chests, go back to Mutant Valley. There you can speak with Amelia and ask her to prepare a vehicle for you. After 24 hours you can start the final journey.
Hello, Earth? This is Mars..
How to unlock: by completing Polar expedition main quest
Tasks:
- Find the communication beacon
This is the last quest in the game. After completing it you won't be able to return to your progress. Make sure before moving to this location that you have rich equipment (especially healing) and upgraded equipment. You will go to the pole of the planet where your only task will be to break through enemy groups consisting of similar units as the ones you fought previously during the game.
After a few minutes of playing you will encounter Viktor. The battle with him has two phases: first you must take care of the group of soldiers on the arena (watch out especially for grenades and try taking advantage of them by letting the enemy to throw them at his companions).
The fight with Viktor shouldn't be a trouble. The opponent is using rogue class, which means he uses light fast weapon and a pistol. Additionally he has two allies. It is a good idea to use warrior class with high interference level in attacks. If you constantly attack Viktor, he won't be able to perform an attack since every hit performed by you will block opponent's counter. However, for the plan to work you must make sure that your allies will fight Viktor's allies and focus their attention away from you. The main antagonist doesn't have traditional soldier armor with high electric energy resistance. Due to that, all technomancer abilities deal heavy damage to him.
Wait a while after defeating this boss and prepare yourself for the second fight. Your enemy will be a large monster - Leviathan. The fight isn't very hard, but it might be time consuming on difficulty levels higher than easy. The enemy attacks in three ways: he hits directly with his head, spits acid and sometimes attacks with tentacles from the side. You can use any class for the fight, but rogue one isn't recommended. If you are good in dodging, select a warrior, this should allow you to quickly defeat the beast. For the tentacles you can switch to guardian - shield defense should be enough to avoid taking damage.
Until the monster attacks you with head, simply stay away or stand just under his body where you can avoid the attack. If you know that he won't spit acid, simply wait for his attack and hit him with strongest attacks you have before he rises. After a few minutes you should defeat the boss and end the game.
