Dialogues and choices The Technomancer Guide
Last update: 29 June 2016
The Technomancer is heavily based on your choices and dialogues. A lot of dialogue options will allow you to avoid combat, save some money (by intimidating enemies instead of bribing them), and sometimes unlock additional, previously unavailable endings of various quests. Most of the story-related dialogues are based on Charisma. However, there are some occasions in which you will need side abilities, such as Creation or Science to increase your chances during a conversation. Each dialogue with a negotiation option has a default percentage value (from 0% to 75%) of success. Each point of Charisma (unless the dialogue option uses a side ability) increases the chances by 25%. Charisma-based conversations are mostly encountered in the game and if you like to have a choice during a conversation, you should invest at least 2 points in Charisma.
The dialogue mechanism is crystal clear, as each negotiation option shows you the percentage value of success. Each point of Charisma (or a side ability, if it's a "themed" conversation) increases the chances by 25%. You can cheat by saving the game before the conversation with a randomly generated value takes place, but it's all up to you.
Choices are sometimes represented as actions. You can, for instance, attack the enemy instead of having a conversation with him, or head to the destination of the mission (if you know the place) completely avoiding the investigation process. During a conversation you can send clear messages, like bribery, intimidation, forfeiting a fight, or forcing the enemy to surrender.
