The Technomancer Game Guide

Table of Contents

All available companions in The Technomancer

In this chapter you will find information about all of the available companions and their specializations. Those are: Scott Seeker, Amelia Reacher, Andrew, Phobos, Niesha, Jeffrey Hunter and David Ward.

Last update: 29 June 2016

There are various companions available in the game, and two of them can accompany you at a time. You can change them at any moment by your rover. During the first chapter you will be able to select from the first three companions - the rest are unlocked during the second chapter.

Each of the characters has his/her own characteristic, specialization and abilities. Additionally, you can build a positive relationship with them (up to a Friendly one), which results in gaining relationship bonuses that will increase your attributes when the companion is in your party. Additionally, you will sometimes be able to speak with them, mainly after more important quests. This is practically the only method of improving relations with your companions, but only if you select the right dialogue options. Another method of improving relations is to complete companion quests. If they are available you just need to speak with a specific companion and see whether the additional dialogue option associated with the mission is present or not. Some of them (like, for instance, Amelia after your journey to the Dig Site) will come to you asking for help. Companion quests are unlocked as you progress in the main story of the game. Your relations are also affected by the level of Karma of your character - you should try to keep it as high as possible (character such as Scott can comment whenever you perform an evil deed).

You can equip those characters with items adequate to their character class (you won't be able to give Amelia, who is fighting with a shield, a rifle). The remaining items will be carried by you, not your companions. If you know that a companion is going to die, or you won't be travelling with him/her anymore, swap the equipment you gave him/her for a weaker one before that happens.

Scott Seeker

Scott Seeker.

Scott if your old friend a faithful companion. You will find him at the beginning of the game in the Slums. From the start you will be able to complete A professor's worries companion quest associated with Scott - doing so will improve your relations with that character. His attitude to your character is heavily influenced by your level of Karma.

Scott fights using only a pistol, which is why he's not very good companion when you want to deal with enemies quickly. However, he can heal your character (by shooting you with a different pistol).

Passive bonus: increased health regeneration by 2%.

Relation bonus: +1 Science

Jeffrey Hunter

Jeffrey Hunter.

This character is a temporary one - he will be accompanying you only during the first chapter, becoming available after your first conversation with captain Eliza Major during the Fight for Abundance quest. A quest associated with this character is The feeling of being followed, which can be completed in The Exchange. This hero is not included in relations with other companions.

This is a powerful character using a heavy rifle in combat. He isn't very effective when paired with Scott, unless you are playing as a Guardian to take the blunt of enemy fire on yourself - both of the characters will quickly be incapacitated in melee combat. If you, however, are playing as a Rogue and you are using a pistol, the passive bonus gained by using this companion will increase the damage dealt by that weapon.

Passive bonus: firearm damage +2

David Ward

David Ward.

This character is a temporary one - he will be accompanying you only during the first chapter, becoming available after your first conversation with captain Eliza Major during the Fight for Abundance quest. A quest associated with this character is A soldier's bitterness, which can be completed in The Exchange. This hero is not included in relations with other companions.

David is a good choice for every class - he is equipped with a shield, making him quite self-sustainable and able to direct enemy fire on himself. While he is doing that, you should make use of power attacks to quickly get rid of enemies - this makes a Warrior a perfect selection for David.

Passive bonus: disruption resistance +2%

Amelia Reacher

Ameria Reacher. - All available companions in The Technomancer - Companions and factions - The Technomancer Game Guide
Ameria Reacher.

Amelia can be met during the expedition to the Dig Site in the first chapter, but she won't be able to become your companion then (only during the second chapter). However, you can improve the relations with the woman by completing The explorer's father quest.

After reaching Noctis you will be able to travel with Amelia. She is a Guardian - she is equipped with a one-handed weapon and a shield, like David was. You can gain some additional relationship points during the first conversation about her - you can ask her about her relationships, tastes, but don't ask her about her childhood, as it will decrease the reputation. She likes when you note technical and travel-oriented elements, as well as her interests. You should be able to gain a high level of relation with her fairly quickly.

Passive bonus: disruption resistance +5%

Relation bonus: +1 Creation

Andrew

Andrew. - All available companions in The Technomancer - Companions and factions - The Technomancer Game Guide
Andrew.

He is a very charismatic character. You will meet him during the first chapter (as Lucky) while doing the Marks of the past side quest. During the second chapter you will be able to complete a quest for him (A friend found) - the quest can be unlocked during a conversation with the man after you've completed a couple of quests in Noctis.

Andrew is a Technomancer and a Warrior. However, until you complete his companion quest (unlocked in Noctis after completing a couple of story-related quests) he will be a simple Warrior, using a one-handed weapon. Thanks to his abilities he is a splendid and powerful companion. You will be able to build solid relations (bonus points) with the man if you've completed the Marks of the past quest in the first chapter, and right after arriving in Noctis you've complemented his "personal charm" during a conversation. During other conversations pay attention to common features and memories.

Passive bonus: power regeneration +5%

Relation bonus: +1 Charisma

Phobos

Phobos. - All available companions in The Technomancer - Companions and factions - The Technomancer Game Guide
Phobos.

You will meet Phobos for the first time in Ophir, during A body for a merchant quest - he will be known as Beg. Afterwards, you will be able to complete another quest for him (Souvenir for a mother) - you will be able to talk about that with the man after arriving in Noctis.

This character is very powerful and will quickly get rid of enemies, as he is using a two-handed weapon (pay attention to those, as it's hard to get them from traders). He is especially strong and has the highest health level of all the other companions, making him effective with practically any class. Unfortunately, you will be able to improve your relations with the man during the III chapter, in the city of mutants. Avoid trouble with any mutants during the journey to not decrease your relations with him.

Passive bonus: maximum equipment weight +250

Relation bonus: +1 Exploration

Niesha

Niesha. - All available companions in The Technomancer - Companions and factions - The Technomancer Game Guide
Niesha.

You will meet the girl during the Personal protection quest. Later on, but still during the first chapter you will be able to complete a quest for her: A friend under pressure. She will be available as a companion from the second chapter.

Niesha uses dagger and poison attack in combat, making her effective against numerous enemies, especially if you prefer to fight with pistols, technomancer-oriented powers or the Guardian class. Additionally, she will be a good assistance when you are playing as a Rogue as well - her passive bonus gives extra damage to daggers. You will be able to build good relations with Niesha quite quickly, getting her relation bonus as well. To improve your relations with the girl even further, take her along during the Patience quest and complete the Accountable quest for her.

Passive bonus: dagger damage +2

Relation bonus: +1 Locks/traps
