Chapter in progress. More information will be added soon.
How to get Treasure Carp Scales?
In the beginning you can get Scales in two ways. The first method is to kill a Treasure Carp. These large fish swim in selected water bodies. Quickly swim to a carp and kill it with your sword.
The second method is to find them during exploration. The Scales can, e.g. lie on the shore (see the picture above). They are marked as a regular loot.
In the later stages of the game there is a third, very important method-diving when jumping into a river or a water reservoir. Some of the listed carps and scales in containers are hidden under water. You can't get to them until you unlock the diving ability. It is a reward for defeating one of major bosses in Ashina Depths - Corrupted Monk. From now on, you can jump into the water and press R2 / right trigger to dive.
Who should I pass the scales to?
There is a unique merchant interested in Treasure Carp Scales. That NPC is called Pot Noble Harunaga, and you can find him in Hirata Estate.
Go to the starting area in the Estate, and move to the place with the bridge (the one patrolled by a single enemy carrying a torch). Examine the shore on the right of the bridge. Pot Noble Harunaga is inside the barrel standing near the water (see the picture above).
The picture above shows items offered by this merchant. The most valuable ones are the Mask Fragment and the Text with a new skill. Sadly, they are the most expansive.
