How to gain experience fast? | Pillars of Eternity Pillars of Eternity Guide
Last update: 10 July 2019
In Pillars of Eternity you gain experience in a quite standard way - by completing quests and defeating opponents. However, if you want to speed up the process of leveling up, see the hints presented below:
- Inarguably, the best way to gain lots of experience is completing quests from bounty hunters. They become available only after you have reached the Caed Nua Keep and restored the wardens Lodge there. Then, you can meet up with Warden Fyrgen at the lodge and take as quest from him. Unfortunately, the majority of them require that your party is strong. The only exception is the quest connected with Warchief Iklak, who can be eliminated by a weaker party. For completing each quest, you receive 10000 points, on average.
- In each location that you visit for the first time, try to receive all of the possible quests, because it is thanks to them that you gain lots of experience (much more than for killing monsters). This goes for both main quests and side quests. In the case of the latter, try to complete the more difficult quests, in the first place, e.g. ones that assume that you fight a battle with a stronger monster. They are rewarded with more experience.
- A good idea is also to be on the lookout for opportunities to gain some smaller amounts of experience. For disarming traps, or picking a lock, you can receive, as many as, hundreds of points. In each dungeon, there is an average of several traps and locks that you can pick.
- After you reach the Caed Nua Keep, you can enter the dungeons under it, i.e. the Endless Paths of Od Nua. It is a perfect place to gain experience, especially that the first level in the Paths are not that demanding and even a weaker party may effectively clear them.
Note - remember that in a weaker party, e.g. one consisting of four, instead of six members, your characters progress faster.
