After you defeat Montard and return to Jon Morgan, you will receive another quest from him. You need to make your way into the city of Karthal and find out has happened to his informer. You are to be awaited by another agent in the sewers.

The problem is that, however, the city gates are shut and nobody is allowed in. This is not a problem, though, because there is a sewer entrance next to the city. (1).

Enter the sewers(2), and you will meet there the woman (3), who is supposed to be waiting for you instead. You will learn from her that the sewers lead up straight to her father's, Falagar's, house that is the missing informer. To reach the other end of the sewers, you need to lift the grate first(5) with a lever(4).

From here onwards, it is an easy walk, but there are facehuggers and Giant Elite Spiders waiting for you there. It is a good thing to be accompanied by someone who can heal poisoning with earth Magic, or to have an antidote on you.

After a short walk, you will reach the stairs to the villa (6). Inside, however, there is not that safe either and, almost instantly, you will be attacked by Shadow Mages and Black Guards. Of course, they are quite resistant to Dark Magic, as well as the Air Magic so, it is recommended that you use some other spells and attacks that prevent the mages from casting their spells.

In the vestibule, there is captain Ripley waiting for you(7). His behavior in the fight is the same as in the case of a black guard, but you do not need to fight him. From him, you will learn that Falafar has been arrested. Once you exit the house to the city (8) you will learn from Dunstan that the city gate has been opened and you should look for the man named Hamza, who will help you free the politician from the prison.
