The gameplay is the same as in the original game. Besides a completely new story campaign the expansion also adds, e.g. two commanders and two new multiplayer maps.

No Heroes Allowed R! takes us to a fantasy world. The sinister Overlord Badman wants to take it over, and so he summons the God of Destruction (the role of whom assumes the player) whose task is to eliminate heroes that try to thwart his summoner's plans. The gameplay is shown from the isometric perspective.

Once the player has picked a side, they can go through a single player campaign or several minor scenarios. The in-game maps are covered with a hexagonal grid and the gameplay is turn-based. Individual skirmishes take place on land, at sea, but also in the air.
