When can I use Glory Kill in Doom Eternal?

Glory kills are executions done on weakened enemies. You can perform glory kills on all varieties of opponents. To stun a more powerful demon, you have to deal it more damage.

Glory kills can only be performed if the opponent his "flashing" - this means that the enemy is weakened.

To use a glory Kill, press the melee button (right analog stick on the consoles). Execution can be performed both on the ground and in the air (e.g. to kill the flying Cacodemon).

You can "fail" glory kills in two ways:

1. The weakened opponent received more damage, e.g. from your attacks or an explosion. You can't use a glory kill on a dead monster.
2. A lot of time has passed since the demon entered the weakened state. The monster can regain some of its life and return to battle. You can use Dazed and Confused rune which extends the duration of a weakened state.

Glory Kills variants

Each demon has several glory kills, e.g. from the front, from the side, from the back, in the air or by jumping on it. These glory kills differ only in animations - the end result is always the same.

Some mission challenges require you to perform, for example, 3 different glory kills on a particular type of demon. Look for the opportunity to approach or jump at the weakened creature from different directions to get different animations.

What passive abilities affect glory kills?

The following passive skills are associated with glory kills:

1. Savagery rune - This skill allows you to perform glory kills faster. It doesn't affect their effectiveness, but you can go back to the battle quicker. This is useful in, e.g. time challenges.
2. Seek and Destroy rune - This rune allows you to activate Glory Kills from a greater distance. You don't have to run directly to the flashing monster.
3. Blood Fueled rune - It allows you to move faster for a short time after a glory kill. You can use this, for example, to quickly move away from demons or get closer to your next target.
4. Dazed and Confused rune - Demons stay longer in the weakened state. You increase your chances of reaching the monster before it recovers.
5. Combustion Concussion armor upgrade - You can stun enemies with grenades.
6. Hit and Run armor upgrade - Restore dash by performing glory kills. This means that just after the animation is finished, you can perform two dashes.

What are the rewards for Glory Kills?

Glory kills, as the name suggests, let you kill weakened demons. If you get to a weakened demon, it is 100% dead. Glory kills animations cannot be interrupted by other monsters.

Each glory kill lets you regain some health points - the fewer health points you have, the more hp will be dropped. Look for every opportunity to perform an execution if you don't have the maximum amount of health.

Glory kills can also be part of different challenges. Complete them to get e.g. Sentinel Batteries or experience points.
