How to unlock the fast travel option in Doom Eternal?
Fast travel is automatically unlocked shortly before a particular stage is completed. After you reach one of the last locations in the mission, a notification should be displayed on the screen to indicate the availability of fast travel.
How do I use the fast travel option?
When you open the 3D map, you must press the Fast Travel button (Square on PS4). First, you have to select one of the main regions you have visited in the mission (note - in some stages only one region is explored).
After selecting a region, you have to choose a Travel Point - depending on the region, the game can share from one to several points.
Fast Travel cannot be used if there are any demons nearby. You must first get rid of them, or get far enough away from them.
Do I have to pay to use the fast travel in the game?
No, the fast travel is free and you can use it as many times as you want before you decide to complete the mission.
What is the main purpose of using fast travel?
The main benefit of using the fast travel is the ability to return to places where you haven't collected some collectibles yet. The easiest way to find out about the secrets you missed is to use the automap terminal. Look on the map for locations marked in grey - this is a sign that the location hasn't been explored yet.
Is fast travel available while replaying a mission?
Not from the beginning - you have to get to the final part of this mission again to make the game re-activate fast travel. If you don't want to waste time searching for secrets, try to collect all the collectibles during your first playthrough of a given mission.
The same restriction applies to optional battles that can happen during the mission. If you missed them while you were playing the mission for the first time, then you can't get them immediately after restarting the mission. You must get to these places again.
