Last update: 28 September 2021
On this page of the Deathloop game guide, you will find a walkthrough of the Wake Up Challenge, during which you need to find Charlie Montague's crates containing prizes. We explain where to find all the crates are and how to reach them in the allotted time.
Puzzle location and its main rules
The Wake Up Challenge is an additional activity in the Complex district that you can take part in (visit the area in the morning).
You can learn about the challenge while visiting the Complex district. It consists of finding and opening prize crates, but you have to work under time pressure - there's a countdown timer on the crates. If you don't reach the crates within the allotted time, they will explode and you won't be able to complete the challenge. If this happens, you will need to re-enter the Complex district to reset the puzzle.
We recommend preparing a bit for this puzzle - set the Shift ability as active and equip Colt with a good weapon to quickly eliminate enemies (e.g. the rifle), because you won't have a lot of time to waste on fighting against opponents. You will have to play quickly and aggressively.
Box no. 1
After exiting the tunnels, immediately start sprinting in a relatively straight line. You have to reach the cliff and you will notice 3-4 opponents standing near the crate. Quickly dispose of them and carefully reach the end of the protruding wooden structure to open the first crate.
Box no. 2
Go left while moving along the cliff. Don't waste too much time fighting the opponents encountered along the way - quickly move away from them by sprinting and using the Shift ability.
The second box is on the iceberg pictured in the screenshot. Quickly kill the nearby enemies and make a few precise jumps to reach the box.
Box no. 3
Return to dry land and continue sprinting along the shoreline. You need to pass the entrances to the nearby locations and reach the area pictured in the screenshots with more icebergs. Once again, you will need to make some precise jumps - use the Shift ability when necessary and make sure not to fall into deep water.
Head straight and then make a sharp left turn. Your destination is pictured in the attached screenshot and you'll find a turret there, which you should hack as soon as possible (you can also try to shoot and destroy it).
Reach the turret's location, where the third crate awaits you.
Box no. 4
In order to find the final crate, sprint towards the bunker. It's a good idea to use the Shift ability to teleport Colt to the bunker's top entrance marked in the screenshot. This will allow you to skip many enemies and reach the final location faster.
You need to reach the control room at the top of the bunker. Head to the upper balconies and stand at the location from the screenshot in order to hack the antenna at a distance.
Use the Hackamajig to unlock the side door of the control room. You will finally be able to enter it and find the last crate.
If you manage to reach all the crates, then Charlie will congratulate you through the megaphone.
