Key information about Wenjie and her whereabouts

Wenjie Evans can reside in one of two different locations. Wenjie's whereabouts change later in the campaign, but only after completing a series of activities to outsmart her (more on that later).

Initially, Wenjie is her multi-level laboratory located in The Complex district. Wenjie appears there in the afternoon. Visiting the lab is part of the introduction to the most important part of the campaign, the Arsenal Lead Ubiquity - you will find a detailed walkthrough of it in our guide.

After completing the Visionary Lead Space Invader, Dr. Wenjie will leave, and finding her again will be part of a new mission. What does Wenjie want? This mission involves conducting a longer investigation and then outsmarting Wenjie using an intelligent machine, 2-BIT.

You can pretend that Aleksis invited Wenjie to his mansion in Updaam district and then visit this place in the evening hours to attend the costume ball. It will also allow you to get rid of Alexis and Egor at the same time.

Murdering Wenjie - The Complex

As a reminder, getting rid of Wenjie in The Complex district is part of the Lead Ubiquity, which you complete in the initial part of the campaign to collect Residuum and using this material to keep items through the loops.

The Wenjie Lab has several entrances, and whichever way you choose, you'll find that you have to fight several copies of Wenjie in different parts of this location.

You can eliminate copies in any order, and each will leave a clue suggesting the location of the next one. You can use firearms, gadgets, offensive powers, and look for opportunities for a sneak attack. Only after eliminating the last copy will you defeat Wenjie, and you will be able to obtain Residuum and other loot she's left.

Murdering Wenjie - Updaam

After Wenjie moves after unlocking the task, What do Wenjie want, to Updaam, you can find her in the evening near the castle, where the costume ball is held.

For a reminder, the ideal way to infiltrate the castle without alerting the whole area is to choose a path running along the cliff. You can thus reach the shutters, then to the upper walls of the castle, and finally to the roofs.

Wenjie should be on one of the roofs of Dorsey's mansion. The ideal way to get rid of her is to use a firearm. After Wenjie is dead, you can escape using Shift and Aether to lose the chase.

Trying to sneak to Wenjie can be problematic due to the presence of other opponents in the area. You can distract at least one guard by reaching the area with Wenjie from the lower floors and sabotaging the power box in one of the nearby rooms.

Additional note - Aleksis is always in the mansion, and in addition, by completing the mission Lost in transmission, Egor can also appear there. While Aleksis always stays on the lower floors of the castle (the dressing room), Egor can appear on the roof and join the fight.

Getting rid of all 3 Visionaries (Wenjie, Alexis, Egor) in the same location is one of the requirements to complete the final mission, After all.

Rewards for defeating the boss

After you defeat Wenjie for the first time in The Complex district, you have to reach her with a portable Harvester and retrieve the Residuum for the first time by "sucking" her remains as a part of the mission Ubiquity. This is one of the steps required to learn how to obtain the Residuum.

In the case of subsequent killings, the rewards are similar to those of other Visionaries. You can interact with her body to get Residuum and look around for the loot she left behind. Unfortunately, Wenjie doesn't drop any slabs with new powers, but you can get the opportunity to obtain a rare weapon, Vopat Trencher, or various trinkets.
