Warzone: Problem with DirectX
Call of Duty Warzone was released on March 10, 2020 and from the very beginning of its premiere it continues to attract many players. Unfortunately, many of them have reported some problem with DirectX, namely: "DirectX encountered an unrecoverable error. Check the readme for possible solutions." We present some ready-made solutions to the DirectX problem which occurs in Call of Duty Warzone. Most of these solutions have helped many players.
- Update your video card drivers
- Scan and repair
- Install additional shader packages
- Disable any additional monitoring or graphics enhancing software
Update your video card drivers
Updating your graphics drivers is the first step in trying to fix the DirectX issue in Call of Duty Warzone. Depending on your hardware, check the Nvidia GeForce Experience or visit the AMD website to see if you have current drivers. If not, download new drivers and install them.
Scan and repair
The next solution consists in scanning and repairing Call of Duty Warzone files. You can do this operation in the Battle.net launcher. Open the Call of Duty Modern Warfare tab, then click Options and select Scan & Repair option. Verification of the game files may take several minutes. If launcher detects any errors or flaws in the files, it automatically downloads and installs them.
Install additional shader packages
After you run Call of Duty Warzone, the main screen will display information about installing additional shader packages - do not interrupt the process. It is very important to let the game install the files to the very end. If the installation process is not progressing, then check graphics settings.
Search for "Restar Shaders Instalation" among the available options. Click on this tab and wait until the game reinstalls all shader packages. The process of reinstalling shader packages only needs to be done once.
Disable any additional monitoring or graphics enhancing software
Some popular graphics card monitoring or overclocking software solutions, such as MSI Afterburner, GIGABYTE Easy Tune, EVGA PrecisionX, AMD Overdrive, RivaTuner Statistic Server, may cause a DirectX problem in Call of Duty Warzone. Turn off additional programs and check if the problem still exists.
Warzone: Optimal PC settings
Many Players, especially those with older PCs, experience some unpleasant and uncomfortable stuttering while playing Call of Duty Warzone. In most cases, this is due to a small amount of FPS (frames per second), which simply jams the game, making it impossible to play effectively and enjoyably. Another problem may be too dark screen or too many graphics effects that make it difficult to see a potential enemy. The following graphics settings for Call of Duty Warzone also may help you in fixing the problem with 100% CPU usage.
Selecting the proper graphics settings in Call of Duty Warzone can be quite a problem, especially for players who don't know what they can and cannot switch off. That's why we present the best optimal PC settings for Call of Duty Warzone, which will allow you to get lots of FPS and improve visibility during the game.
- Resolution - each display screen has a specific resolution at which the displayed graphics looks best. Therefore, use the native resolution of your display monitor.
- Refresh rate - select the highest refresh rate your monitor can provide. For example, it can be 60 Hz or 144 Hz or even more.
- Render Resolution- leave this value at 100. If you need to get a few additional FPS, then lower the value to 90, but the game will look slightly worse.
- V-Sync - you can disable this option.
- Frame rate limit - set the upper FPS limit to that of your monitor refresh rate. For example, if the monitor has 144Hz refresh rate, set the upper FPS limit to 144. While in the game menu, set the value to 60 FPS so that the processor does not work harder than necessary.
- Nvidia Highlights - you can disable this option.
- Texture Resolution - depending on your video card, you can set this value as high as possible. This will not affect the performance of the CPU.
- Texture Filter Anisotropic - reduce this value to minimum.
- Particle Quality - keep this value at a minimal level.
- Bullets Impact - bullet traces are probably not the most important during gameplay, so you can safely turn them off and save some CPU power.
- Tessellation - you can safely disable this option and save some CPU processing power.
- Shadow Map Resolution - reduce this value to a minimum.
- Cache Spot Shadows - disable this option.
- Cache Sun Shadows - disable this option.
- Particle Lighting - disable this option.
- DirectX Raytracing - disable this option.
- Ambient Occlusion - disable this option.
- Screen Space Reflection (SSR) - reduce this value to minimum.
- Anti-Aliasing - if you want the best performance, you can turn off Anti-Aliasing completely, but the game will look worse. You can also leave it at the default value - SMAA T2X.
- Depth of Field - disable this option to get a clearer picture of the battlefield.
- Filmic Strength - set the value to 0.
- World Motion Blur - disable this option so that the image is not blurred during character movement.
- Weapon Motion Blur - disable this option so that the image is not blurred when the weapon moves.
- Film Grain - set the value to 0.
- FOV (Field of View) - the value of 100 FOV guarantees the highest possible quality of gameplay, because you will see much more, but it may put more stress on your equipment. If you can't afford it, then lower it to 80-90.
In the picture above you can see the graphics quality in Call of Duty Warzone after applying the aforementioned settings. The game runs smoothly even on weaker hardware, and still looks good. There are also no problems with blurred objects, and opponents are easier to spot in a brighter image without additional shadows, reflections or motion blur effects.
