Plasmids-description and maps in Bioshock Bioshock guide, walkthrough
Last update: 04 February 2020
In BioShock, plasmids are active skills and they can be compared to spells. On this page of the guide, you will find a summary of all available plasmids. You will learn about their functions and where they can be unlocked. In addition to the text part, there also are maps with locations of plasmids marked.
Introductory note
- The locations of plasmids that we have shown in the third column of the table are tabs to the corresponding chapters of the step-by-step guide, where they have been described in more detail (for example. Neptune's Bounty).
- Don't stop looking for a plasmid just once. You can get stronger versions of it that can enhance its properties or add completely new features.
- In cases where a particular plasmid can be purchased in the Gatherer's Garden, we include its first appearance in the list of available products. For gifts from Tenenbaum for saving the sisters, we assume that the player saved everyone from the beginning (that is, this is the earliest appearance of a particular tonic that we can achieve).
- Under the table with descriptions of plasmids, you will find maps with locations of plasmids marked. Use it if you have problems finding any of them.
List of plasmids in BioShock
Icon | Description | Location |
Electro Bolt The most important plasmid in the game. Paralyzes enemies, exposing them to increased damage. | 1 - Welcome to Rapture 2-Arcadia 3-Hephaestus
Incinerate! Incinerate! It sets fire to enemies and objects (especially effective on oil stains). | 1-Medical Pavilion 2-Fort Frolic 3-Olympus
Telekinesis This allows you to pick up and throw most items in the game world. Useful in the elimination of missile towers. | 1-Medical Pavilion
Enrage Struck by this plasmid, the enemy becomes enraged and attacks his or her comrades. Not very useful. | 1-Medical Pavilion
Hypnotyze Big Daddy For a while, it makes Daddy protect you. Invaluable help in difficult situations. | 1-Neptune's Bounty 2-Fort Frolic
Target Dummy This creates the illusion of a player character that distracts the attention of opponents. Impractical. | 1-Neptune's Bounty
Winter Blast Freezes enemies and items. It can be used to freeze hacked items. If we beat the frozen enemy, they won't leave the loot. | 1-Neptune's Bounty 2-Fort Frolic 3-Olympus
Security Eye It draws the attention of security systems to the enemy affected by the plasmid. It's probably only useful for Big Daddies. | 1-Neptune's Bounty
Cyclone Trap It creates a small vortex that throws opponents into the air. For some reason, it didn't click with us. | 1-Arcadia 2-Hephaestus
Insect Swarm It sends a swarm of bees that spread panic among a group of opponents. This is rarely useful. | 1-Farmer's Market 2-Fort Frolic 3-Olympus |
