Setting mirrors, lights and seat | Driving your truck across the States American Truck Simulator Guide

Setting mirrors
The main panel of "my truck" section has the "cabin modification" option. Use it to change the mirror settings. You can change the position (use [W], [S], [A], [D] buttons) of each mirror (buttons [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7]) to have a better field of view.
Setting lights
As you may work during the night (or during a heavy rainfall) you need to use lights. Configure them using the quick access ([F4] by default) or the "my truck" > "cabin modification" menu displayed on the right when the game is paused.
You should rather use the low beam ([F4] + [2] by default). But these lights do not provide too big field of view which is dangerous at high speed and on twisty roads.
Therefore use the high beam as well ([F4] + [3]). Such lights provide much bigger field of view. Emergency light ([F4] + [4] by default) is a blinking orange lamp located at the top of the truck (if you buy it) and the trailer (if it is assembled there). If you buy additional front and roof lights you can turn them on. The truck not only looks better but you see the road better as well.
Setting seat
Setting seat is an option mostly for players using "Oculus Rift" virtual reality glasses. For other players this function will allow setting the position behind the steering wheel. Every actual driver know how important it is to set the position of the seat and mirrors - mostly for safety and comfort. In the setting seat you most of all determine the height and distance from the wheel. It is important to set the seat in a rational way so that it won't make your visibility worse or worsen the driving comfort.
