Important choice regarding the fate of the survivors in mission 6
- During mission 6 - Atmospheric Nightmare, you will receive a side objective to find survivors. The survivors are Robert V. Rheb, Lise Varl, and Elias Drake. Each of these characters is hiding in one of the welded rooms.
- Upon reaching each of the civilians, you will listen to the conversation. This is also when you have to make an important choice regarding that survivor. You can believe in their good intentions and evacuate them to the ship, or consider them a traitor and shoot.
- The decision should be based on the knowledge from the found datapads, as they may reveal the intentions of a given survivor and whether they pose a potential threat. It is worth collecting all the datapads from the area before you get to the 3 welded rooms. This way, you will have all the information.
- If you make a wrong decision and evacuate a dangerous person, there will be sabotage on board the USS Otago the following day in the game world (a separate small event). So potentially, you could lose more than you gain by taking the colonists.
How to deal with the sabotage of Otago's generator?
If Otago is sabotaged, the event will activate after you advance to the next day at the base - you will have to make an important choice:
- Option A: Suspend the work of all engineers and doctors for 1 day and waste 1 day. This is the least painful solution and we recommend choosing it.
- Option B: Lose one of the marines. The game will choose one of the characters with the highest experience level. We do not recommend this option because every leveled up marine is invaluable.
- Option C: Waste 1 day and take a risk that the event can reoccur. This is also a bad idea, because the risk is high and it may turn out that you've unnecessarily wasted 1 day.
The 1.0 version of Aliens Dark Descent is unfortunately buggy, and sabotage can occur even if you invite "safe" survivors. Until the bugs are fixed, we advise to either kill them all or ignore the mission objective related to finding them.
Where is Robert?
- Robert is hiding in a welded room in the central part of the quarters, north of the Command Room.
- In the room with the civilian there is a corpse and Robert claims that this was done by monsters. From the datapad you will find out that Robert is healthy and no xenomorph will hatch from him.
- You must decide Robert's fate. Taking Robert on board the USS Otago is safe.
Where is Lise?
- Lise is hiding in a sealed room next to the laboratory and security doors, the opening of which is one of the main objectives of the mission.
- Lise is a bioengineer and you will learn that she conducted research on the xenomorphs and planned to escape from the moon with a friend. She did not side with the cultists.
- You have to decide Lisa's fate. Taking Lisa on board the USS Otago is safe.
Where is Drake?
- Drake is hiding in a welded room to the east of the quarters.
- From the datapads you can learn that Drake has allied himself with the cultists and agrees with their plans for starting a "new era".
- You must decide Drake's fate. Taking Drake on board the USS Otago is dangerous. Shoot him or ignore the room with him (to avoid making noise).
