Sectopod | Enemies XCOM 2 Guide

Sectopods are the heaviest armored units in the game, whose are often reach up to 6 points and health pools reaching up to an astonishing 40 points. Without the usage of special ammo and grenades you won't be able to eliminate the enemy during a single round.
The unit has access to a number of abilities, such as:
- Low / High Stance. This ability allows the enemy to stand on straight legs, gaining a high advantage (receiving AIM and defense bonuses), which makes it easier for him to perform attacks. The enemy can activate the ability again, reverting him to his original posture.
- Wrath Cannon. An ability requiring a round of preparation. The enemy will prepare the it by marking an area and after a round will unleash a powerful attack, dealing up to 12 points of damage to all units in the area of effect. To avoid it you must simply move your soldier out of the marked area.
- Lightning Field. When the enemy detects the presence of your soldier he will unleash a powerful electric discharge dealing damage to all the units around him.
The best way to deal with the enemy is to use the Haywire Protocol ability of the Specialist to stun the target for 2 rounds (you can also hack the Sectopod, but it will require a significant HACK attribute) and focus all your fire on the foe. You should first get rid of the enemy's armor by using grenades and shredding abilities. Additionally, the A.P. Rounds are extremely effective against the Sectopod, allowing you to bypass all that armor.
