Intel is used to communicate with the Resistance; as a countermeasure against the AVATAR project; and as a currency on the Black Market. It's one of the most important resources you've got, one that has to be controlled at all times - do not ever allow a situation where you don't have enough Intel resources to discover a Dark Event, or to contact the Resistance.

Finishing missions is always a good way to get some intel.

There are a couple of available ways of obtaining Intel:

  1. Completing missions - as an award for some missions.
  2. Missions - sometimes you will encounter a place during a mission, which - after you hack it - will yield a various amounts of Intel.
  3. Scanning at the Resistance Ring - for each day of scanning at the Ring, you will get around 8 Intel points.
  4. Finishing missions sometimes yields Intel.
  5. Collecting on the world map - much like the other resources.
  6. Attacking and successfully hacking the enemy using the Skulljack - depending on the type of hacking you chose you might obtain various amounts of Intel.
  7. Finishing Covert Action for the Resistance. Some of these missions yield engineers or scientists.
