Tropico 6 features a wide range of graphics settings that can be freely modified to find a compromise between graphics quality and smooth gameplay. Below you will find a description of all options:
- Graphics card - specifies your model of graphics card.
- Window mode - allows you to select how the game is displayed - full screen or in window mode.
- Screen resolution - allows you to change the screen resolution. The larger the size, the better the graphics, but also the higher the load on the graphics card.
- VSync - allows you to synchronize frames between the monitor and the graphics card. Enabling this feature will ensure that the image will not be loaded wtih sluttery manner in front of your eyes during the game. However, it may cause the performance of the game to decrease.
- Frame rate - determines how many times per second the image will be refreshed.
- Anti-aliasing - allows you to determine how exactly the edges of visible objects will be smoothed. Disabling this feature will increase the smoothness of the game, but will cause image distortion.
- Quality - a group of settings that allows to select the quality of all elements seen on the screen, such as water, shadows and vegetation. The higher the setting, the more detailed the objects visible on the screen and at the same time the higher the CPU load.
- Ambient occlusion - determines the detail of the surfaces to be seen. The higher the setting, the better the effect and at the same time the higher the CPU load.
- Bloom - activating this function will cause the light rays to be visible. This will increase the realism of the world, but may also cause a drop in overall performance.
- Lens Flares - by enabling this option, light circles will start to appear on the screen when you point the camera towards the light source.
- Depth of Field - defines the distance at which the image starts to be clearly visible. When this option is on, background objects will be blurred.
